Vudu Nov 6 Update Broke UHD Nvidia Shield TV

As mentioned in the title, the Nov 6 Update to the Android TV Vudu app broke UHD compatibility on Nvidia Shield TV. Still have option to buy/rent in UHD but owned movies only give option for hdx. If I uninstall the latest update the UHD playback option returns and I am able to watch my movies in 4k. This is on an Nvidia Shield TV connected to a Sony 4k TV (no hdr). Please update app to fix.

What Android OS version is on your Shield?

Can you please provide me with the app version that works for you and the one that's broken?

Can you give me some titles that are experiencing this issue?

Android OS for Shield TV is 7.1.0 (29.6.259.0)
Broken Vudu App with no uhd playback is version 4.3.58.123472
Vudu app with uninstalled updates that works is version 4.1.37.89419

All uhd titles in my library will not play in uhd (only hdx shows) with latest update. Some examples are Solo, Avengers: Infiniti war, Mad Max Fury Road.

Sure thing. Shield TV is directly connected to Denon x3400h AV receiver in enhanced HDMI mode through 4k 59 fps rgb connection. AV receiver then outputs to Sony 55in xbr 810c.

I also tried connecting Shield TV directly to Sony xbr 810c and still get no UHD option. Tried in both enhanced HDMI rgb and standard HDMI yuv 410 colorspace. As mentioned, issue is immediately resolved by uninstalling updates. Pretty sure this didn't happen until latest update.

All HDMI ports on tv and receiver are HDMI 2.0 hdcp 2.2 compliant. Only feature not supported is HDR on the TV side but that never stopped me from playing uhd movies before (HDR would just be greyed out on movie description)

Thanks for the info! We're going to test it out here to see if we can reproduce with a similar setup. We may need to contact Nvidia as well so we may need to gather some more information from you if they need it.

Just to confirm, have you hard power cycled your Shield?

That's odd, it works properly on my nVidia Shield connected through my Pioneer VSX-1131 to my Sony XBR-75Z9F using the Nov.6 Update.

Same problem.. I just got a Nvidia Shield for Black Friday and got it all set up and dissapointed to see NONE of my VUDU UHD titles would play in UHD and only in HDX. I found where I could uninstall the VUDU update and it works perfect (UHD / Atmos). Nvidia updated again today and lost my UHD ability so deleted VUDU update and im back to watching UHD. What is up with the newest update? I bought this $160 machine to play my UHD movies with Atmos. If i have to keep deleting the update I will but its a pain in the butt because I have to log in again each time. Please fix this issue asap.

Looking on post #8 of this thread shows Vudu is officially aware of the issue, which is good. Hopefully, it will not take too long for an updated fix.

Could you tell me the Vudu build running on your Shield? HDR10 and UHD are working correctly for us, so it may be a setup issue or compatibility. Could you let me know Which TV you're using with your Shield?
