Not all studios will give UHD UV rights for UHD purchases or redemptions. We will ask but cannot guarantee anything can be done.

Thank you FelipeF . I want to believe that Paramount overlooks this, and sometimes the people responding to requests may be confused.

Here are all of the Paramount titles that port UHD to UV locker:

      10 Cloverfield Lane (2016)
      Allied (2016)
      Annihilation (2018)
      Baywatch (2017)
      Braveheart (1995)
      Clear and Present Danger (1994)
      Cloverfield (2008)
      Daddy's Home (2015)
      Daddy's Home 2 (2017)
      Downsizing (2017)
      Forrest Gump (1994)
      Ghost in the Shell (2017)
      Gladiator (2000)
      Grease (1978)
Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters (2013)
      Hunt for Red October (1990)
      Interstellar (2014)
      Jack Reacher (2012)
Jack Reacher: Never Go Back (2016)
      Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit (2014)
Lara Croft: The Cradle of Life (2003)
      Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001)
Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (2011)
Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation (2015)
      Mission: Impossible (1996)
      Mission: Impossible 2 (2000)
      Mission: Impossible 3 (2006)
      Mother! (2017)
      Patriot Games (1992)
      A Quiet Place (2018)
      Saving Private Ryan (1998)
      Sherlock Gnomes (2018)
      Shutter Island (2010)
      Suburbicon (2017)
The Sum of All Fears (2002)
      Terminator: Genisys (2015)
      Transformers (2007)
      Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014)
Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011)
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009)
      Transformers: The Last Knight (2017)
xXx: Return of Xander Cage (2017)

and here are the few that do not port UHD to UV locker from Paramount:

BOOK CLUB (2018) is delivering UV HD from UHD purchase
G.I. JOE: RETALIATION (2013) is delivering UV HD from UHD purchase
G.I. JOE: THE RISE OF COBRA (2009) is delivering UV HD from UHD purchase
Hercules (2014) UHD purchase ports HD to UV locker and it should port UHD to UV locker.
IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE is delivering UV HD from UHD purchase
MISSION IMPOSSIBLE FALLOUT (2018) is delivering UV HD from UHD purchase
TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES (2014) is delivering UV HD from UHD purchase
WAR OF THE WORLDS (1953) is delivering UV HD from UHD purchase

I hope that they have just overlooked this and intended for them all to be UHD UV for purchases and/or redemptions.

Its understandable that Vudu cant control that, but you are the party making the sale and you have a responsibility to note that on the product page so a customer knows exactly what they are getting with their purchase.

It is more than reasonable for a customer to assume they are getting UHD rights when making a UHD purchase, so for them to only be able to find out what they are getting after making the non-refundable purchase is a terrible business practice.

I'd say it's pretty clear Paramount gives UV UHD rights regularly - for both physical BR and physical 4K releases. So it's more inconsistency than any policy.

If you redeem on Paramount directly you get UHD.

However if done through fandangonow, correct rights are granted.
I redeemed through FN and it is not in my UV library at all

You mean you get a UHD license in your UV locker (as redeeming on vudu does give UHD , just not at UV)

The code is a dual redeem. So it doesnt matter if you redeem on iTunes first. Also, you get the movie in UHD just not on myuv.com. It will transfer to myuv.com once Vudu makes the change, even if you redeem now.

Seems that Paramount is the one at issue now. Given the problem now with Paramount titles not porting correct resolution and the problem that had with been Lionsgate titles not porting at all, that both studios are really giving UV the short shrift!!

Fixed. This is what the entire thread is about.

So, when you go to the movie's page on Vudu (before you buy it) and it gives you the option to buy UHD or HDX, and it has an Ultraviolet logo, does it indicate anywhere that the Ultraviolet (for now) only applies to one type of purchase and not the other?

All purchases of this title transfer to UV. This thread is about the attached - UV UHD rights from a UHD purchase or code redeemed at Vudu only appear as HD (max) in your UV locker. Photo attached.

It will not be fixed until we hear back from Vudu saying it was fixed most likely.

Mission Impossible: Fallout will now give UHD UV rights for UHD purchases and redemptions. All other Paramount UHD titles will only give HDX UV rights from now on.

There's little benefit in purchasing the UHD disc if this is true. You're better off purchasing the digital copy of a Paramount UHD title instead.
