There are 6 movies missing the Dolby Vision encode. All these movies are available at other providers in DV. Can the studio be contacted?

    Beverly Hills Cop (1984)
    It's A Wonderful Life (1947)
    The Last Castle (2001)
The Sum Of All Fears (2002)

It still boggles my mind how the studios can send two different video encodes for the same movie? Why aren't they sending the same encode to all streaming services? Maybe Vudu is manipulating the encode to work with their ecosystem and by doing this, they remove HDR? Just a wild guess.

              881 UHD
              842 HDX
              5 SD

It does boggle the mind, and if you contact the studio, they will blame the retailer for not encoding the movie correctly and refer you to the retailer. The retailer will then tell you that the studio sent them the wrong master. Yet, neither are interested in correcting the mistake, regardless of who is at fault.

Uncharted is missing a Dolby Atmos track on Vudu, yet Apple TV has it. Lawrence of Arabia is missing Dolby Atmos on Apple TV, yet Vudu has it. All Sony movies on the Movies Anywhere app are missing both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos even though both are supported.

I know and because of this, I try to stay away from contacting both the studios and Vudu support.

I would like to point out that these releases, disturbing since they are really recent releases and it seems then to be a trend, not only do not have DV, but have no HDR at all:
                    Dragonslayer
                    Ferris Bueller's Day Off
                    Hustle and Flow
                    Roman Holiday

At least the other releases lacking DV, actually have regular HDR.

HDR (or DV), considering the WCG (Wide Color Gamut) component (even with regular HDR a hugely larger amount of color capture/reproduction), is not only half of what "4K" is, but is what makes UHD resolution function as a resolution (plus more accurate color capture, etc).

At any rate, I'm just trying to point out more precise info here, plus the fact that all these recent releases are lacking any HDR at all, that it not become a trend. Annoyingly, codes from Romany Holiday do not (currently) have an iTunes option; at least Dragonslayer/Ferris have an iTunes option (to obtain UHD+HDR (DV)).

I can't believe Ferris Bueller doesn't have DV or HDR. Other streaming services have it in DV.

Scream 3 4K does not have HDR and/or DV in Vudu. Yet another recent release lacking HDR of any sort. The iTunes version is UHD+DV. I have been attempting (ongoing) to contact Paramount about this, no resolution yet (we've gone back and forth several times, as I try to get the issue past the lowest-level customer service reps). I can't imagine (and hope it's not the case) that Paramount is sending differing files to differing services, and severely diminishing one of the most popular ones (i.e. Vudu). I still think this might be an issue in Vudu failing to properly access the full file.

Scream 3 has been added to the list. Vudu has it listed as by Miramax but Paramount released the 4K Blu-ray disc.

FIXED!!! I got a response from Paramount during the last hour or so, they informed me that Vudu had rectified the problem. Sure enough the 4 movies lacking HDR of any sort (Dragonslayer, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Hustle and Flow, and Roman Holiday) now have HDR in the form of DV. I started this process a few weeks ago, so Scream 3 was not on my list, but that was also fixed. A few spot checks of the list in the first post here show that several of those have DV now.

I seriously suspect this was an interface issue (on Vudu's part), explaining why there seemed to be this global fix.

Thanks for the update! I have updated the OP. I changed the subject to Paramount movies missing HDR10. Below is a list of movies which include Dolby VIsion but are still missing HDR10.

                              Bringing Out The Dead (1999)
                              The Last Castle (2001)
