Paramount 4K UHD Titles - No UHD UV Licenses Issued - G.I. Joe, TMNT, & Star Trek

This was address before by Vudu's support, but the response has been Paramount is no longer supporting and no longer issuing UltraViolet licenses on UHD titles after MI: Fallout, but these were some of the first UHD titles released by Paramount , therefor these should not be included since their release was years before that release of Fallout. Ultraviolet & FandangoNOW's support has verified that this information that Vudu was told about this is incorrect and should have the UV UHD rights issued.

STAR TREK BEYOND (2016) VUDU is delivering UltraViolet HD license from UHD purchase - digital code from 4K UHD Blu-Ray redeems HD - FN delivers no UltraViolet license from purchase.ode redeems HD from 4K UHD Blu-Ray

STAR TREK (2009) VUDU is delivering UltraViolet HD license from UHD purchase - digital code from 4K UHD Blu-Ray redeems HD - FN delivers no UltraViolet license from purchase.ode redeems HD from 4K UHD Blu-Ray

STAR TREK INTO THE DARKNESS (2013) VUDU is delivering UltraViolet HD license from UHD purchase - digital code from 4K UHD Blu-Ray redeems HD - FN delivers no UltraViolet license from purchase.ode redeems HD from 4K UHD Blu-Ray

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES (2014) VUDU is delivering UltraViolet HD license from UHD purchase - FN delivers no UltraViolet license from UHD purchase.

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES OUT OF THE SHADOWS (2016) VUDU is delivering UltraViolet HD license from UHD purchase - digital code from 4K UHD Blu-Ray redeems HD - FN delivers no UltraViolet license from UHD purchase.

G.I. JOE: RETALIATION (2013) VUDU is delivering UltraViolet HD license from UHD purchase. - FN delivers no UltraViolet license from UHD purchase.

G.I. JOE: THE RISE OF COBRA (2009) VUDU is delivering UltraViolet HD license from UHD purchase.- FN delivers no UltraViolet license from UHD purchase.

THE WAR OF THE WORLDS (1953) VUDU is delivering UltraViolet HD license from UHD purchase.- FN delivers no UltraViolet license from UHD purchase. FN delivers no UltraViolet license from UHD purchase.

I have finally got Paramounts support to look at this title along with the first TMNT UHD and all the Star Trek UHD titles. I need VUDU to as well if they can push on the studio to fix these.

Paramount for the longest time kept blaming Vudu, FandangoNOW (& Flixster when they were still around) for the 4K UHD Ultraviolet rights not being issued.

I had bought all of these UHD titles on both Vudu & FN, neither of which gives the UV rights in UHD. I've purchased these digitally along with redeeming the digital codes on Paramount from UHD Blu-Ray disc (for all the Star Treks & TMNT Out of The Shadows). Both Vudu & FN point fingers at the studio, the studio point the figure right back at the retailers. Paramount finally has pushed this up the chain to be looked at for all 5 UHD titles (Star Trek & TMNT).

If everyone with these same issues can email their support reporting them so they address it so it finally gets fixed after being an issue for the longest time. Their support email is ParamountSupport@digitalcopysupport.com

IF YOU HAVE THE 4K DISC - SEND THE PICTURE IN THE FIRST EMAIL FOR A QUICKER FIX. THEY WILL WANT TO SEE THE DIGITAL CODE SLIP, 4K BLU-RAY COVER & BACK SHOWING THE FULL UPC, PROOF OF PURCHASE - ADD A SCREEN SHOT OF WHERE YOU OWN THE UHD VERSION & YOUR UV LOCKER WHERE IT'S MISSING OR SHOWING AS HD ONLY.

Of the Star Treks, only "Beyond" is available in UHD from Vudu. I know this is a separate issue, but wanted to bring it up.

UHD UV rights would be fantastic, but of no use if the title isn't even available.

Correct, I just added that to the post. Thank you for pointing that out. When it does go UHD here (it's already UHD on FN - iTunes) though it will be an issue here as it's the studio not fixing the UV rights for this titles.

Not sure if this applies, but I have previously contacted VUDU about the 4K rights not transferring from a VUDU purchase of G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra and Retaliation in 4K to Ultraviolet.

Here's VUDU support's response so far...

                Hello,

We can provide replacement 4k codes for Digital redemption codes from supported retailers, only if the code slip specifies 4k. If your code slip does not specify 4k redemption, you will need to contact the movie studio that produced this title, and request to have a replacement code provided. Let them know that it was supposed to redeem in UHD, but redeemed in HDX.

Going forward, if you have a code that is from a 4K/UHD Blu-Ray disc, we recommend redeeming it on the site the code slip specifies, rather than redeeming it through any other service.

                Best regards,
                Joseph, C

Paramount slips don't specify if it came from a Blu or UHD set.
Unless you have a copy of the Paramount app installed, redeeming at Paramount's site will redirect to a Vudu redeem.

Tell Paramount that this is an issue own their end that?s Vudu is saying the studio is responsible for setting up the correct Ultraviolet rights and ask them to work with both Vudu & FandangoNOW to fix the issue.

I had purchased the Star Trek 3-Movie Bundle over at FN since the UHD bundle sells for only $30 (while the HD bundle sells for $45) but was sadly disappointed to learn that the UHD bundle is cheaper than the HD bundle because you get no UV rights with the UHD purchase. At least here at Vudu if you buy the UHD version you at least get HD UV license. It's not ideal but it's better than nothing. But over at FN you don't even get that. If you buy UHD versions you get no UV licenses at all. You only get UV licenses if you purchase HD or SD copies of these movies.

Same here but I had already owned the HD UV rights from here on Vudu.

Okay, here's the response from Paramount after my 2nd e-mail concerning the 4K UHD digital rights for G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra and Retaliation.

                          Dear Customer,

We have forwarded this issue to the concerned team and we are awaiting an update on this. We will get back to you once we receive an update.

                          Thank you,

                          I almost forgot, here's VUDU's response...

                          Hello Fabian

I hope this email finds you well.

All of the titles purchased on Vudu are transferred out of your Vudu library in the exact same resolution which they are purchased in. If for some reason that resolution is different in Ultraviolet, you should follow up with Ultraviolet to identify why their systems are not updating your library with the correct digital resolution for that title. We apologize again for any inconvenience this may cause; but thank you for your understanding.

                          Best Regards,

That Vudu CS response is the exact opposite of what FelipeF has told us here in the forums.

Either Felipe or Alex is incorrect.

Only paramount can fix this issue at this point. Vudu hopefully is pushing the studio on their end but responses like that tell me no one knows what they're talking about there.
