It kinda defeats the purpose of purchasing a 4K UHD title if you don't get 4K UHD in Ultraviolet and/or Movies Anywhere.
You'll just have to redeem elsewhere.

    It's like the Spider-man issue.

Vudu claims that Spider-man codes will NOT redeem in UHD anywhere. If you redeem Spider-man codes elsewhere, they will redeem in UHD and port to Vudu in UHD.

As far as codes are concerned, it's probably best to stick to studio sites.

That said, SELLING UHD and only delivering HDX rights is on Vudu. If Vudu can't deliver UHD UV rights, then it should not advertise UHD content with the UV logo. A consumer cannot know what titles Vudu is delivering rights for and which it is not, unless it is clearly spelled out on the purchase page.

You're basically saying that Paramount told Vudu on or before 12/12/2018 (See Felipe's comment here: https://forum.vudu.com/forum/vudu/ge...147#post484147) that any Paramount UHD title added/released after that date and time, as well as any other Paramount UHD title already on Vudu that had not yet been fixed and was porting HD to UV locker, would remain that way forever.

Exactly. Paramount support is also saying these titles should be issuing the UHD UV rights to us but is pointing the finger at Vudu saying it is messed up on your end. These titles were released before ANY of the Mission Impossible movies in UHD and should have been fixed a long time ago. Paramount is saying no more UHD UV rights going forward on new releases after MI Rouge.

You want this fixed? Stop buying or redeeming Paramount titles. Email Paramount, Tweet them up. Let them know no more purchases if they can't correct this. If they fear they will lost sales, I'm sure this will be corrected... at least one could hope. LOL

I am new on the forums and just joined because I wanted to comment on another post, but this one got me worked up more. I have directly purchased many of these Paramount titles in UHD at Vudu. It still shocks me that Vudu made no effort to indicate that my UHD purchases would not be UV UHD. The UV logo was clearly displayed with no exclusions indicated. If you had put UV next to the HDX and SD purchase buttons and left it off of the UHD purchase button, then I would say you were clear. You did not do that and the UV symbol is still there misleading more to believe that UHD purchases will provide UHD UV rights. Vudu has been good about fixing these problems in the past, so I always assumed this would be fixed. FelipeF - there must be a back story behind your comments on this post that I don't understand. That aside, do you recognize that what Vudu is advertising on these movies is misleading? If Vudu is not going to try to fix the UV rights on them, then please change the way you advertise them so you avoid deceiving and frustrating more customers.

Maybe if Paramount will ever join Movies Anywhere. UHD seems to be a lot less problematic on MA than on UV, at least that's how it looks to me.

I have done exactly all that. The problem is the studio says it is Vudu/FN fault and the retailers blame Paramount. No one wants these fixed and I refuse to by ANYTHING from Paramount until these titles are fixed as they are released years before they stopped supporting UV in UHD titles.

Okay, here's an update on my communications with Paramount...

So, Paramount did send me new codes for Star Trek and Star Trek Beyond, but they were HD codes, not 4K UHD. As the Star Trek code did not redeem on VUDU in 4K and it did transfer to Ultraviolet in HD. The Star Trek Beyond code also did not transfer in redeem in 4K on FandangoNOW and it did transfer to Ultraviolet, albeit in HD. After letting them know that, here's they're response...

                Hello,

Apologies for sending HD code for the Star Trek Beyond. Unfortunately, This title is available in HD format only. (emphasis added) We regret for the inconvenience caused. However, we are issuing you a new authorization UHD code for Star Trek (2009), shown below:

                ************

                Go to https://paramountdigitalcopy.com/redeem

We recommend you use Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome. Just enter this code when prompted to do so, to unlock your Digital Copy feature.

Please let us know if you have any problems.

                Thank you,

                PARAMOUNT DIGITAL COPY SUPPORT
When I replied about Star Trek Beyond ONLY being in HD and that Beyond can be purchased in UHD on iTunes, VUDU, and FandangoNOW, they replied...

                Dear Customer,

Please be informed that the version available on iTunes, VUDU and FandangoNow are their exclusive version and can be purchased directly from them. Unfortunately, the code offered by the studio can only be redeemed in HD version.

We regret for the inconvenience caused.

                Thank you,
                Paramount Digital Copy Support
At this point, what's the use, especially with Ultraviolet now closing...

And now, I can't even buy Into Darkness and Beyond on FandangoNOW, as I already have them in HD. I was able to purchase Star Trek on FandangoNOW in 4K UHD, but AGAIN, the 4K rights did NOT transfer to Ultraviolet.

Yes, I already knew that about the digital codes not suppose to be redeeming UHD. This is mainly for the digital purchases, where the UV logo is shown.

I have found from personal experience that most of the Paramount customer service people have absolutely no clue on this. With me, they constantly equated a purchase with a code redemption. I swear that almost everyone I talked to about it there didn't understand the difference. In my case I had to spell it out like I was explaining it to a child. Only then was I escalated to someone who understood the difference. All that said, it should really give UV whether it was from a purchase or a code redemption.

after reading this thread, i emailed Paramount and they gave me UHD codes for Transformers 3 and 4, but would not give me a UHD code for Star Trek Beyond.

The codes included in ST:B discs never were UHD. There was a promo code that came with select Vizio TVs that was UHD. Those are now expired

I was planning on picking up a bunch of physical Paramount 4K UHD catalog titles until I started having problems... Then I read through this forum and it's sad that they're pretty much ignoring a major issue with their title redemptions. Paramount got rid of their own digital copy redemption platform on ParamountMovies.com at some point late 2018/early 2019 which would at least seem to redeem in the correct UHD format on their own platform and then port over to Vudu (ex: Terminator Genysis, M:I - Rogue Nation, Transformers: Dark of the Moon for me) when 4K was available here on Vudu. Seems like Paramount has now adopted the Lionsgate/MovieRedeem.com method of exporting digital redemptions to other outlets. Which can cause problems when the title isn't available yet in that format. I can't tell you how many Lionsgate tickets I've had to open up just to get my digital copies upgraded when necessary. I tried upgrading my Star Trek Beyond to UHD via included redemption code and then it said that I already owned it being an HD code. So I contacted Paramount weeks ago about it, and no response. Try to follow up... Nothing. Feels like I'm being ignored or something. Then I saw Star Trek & Star Trek Into Darkness weren't yet in UHD on Vudu. Same problem with Cloverfield UHD and 10 Cloverfield Lane UHD on top of the other titles already mentioned here.

So I imagine the same issues would occur on those Cloverfield titles with only HDX redemptions and then being ignored by Paramount Customer Service. So why bother. Part of my physical copy purchase is supposed to include something that isn't even working right to begin with and it's causing too much of a headache. Because they want to be difficult and not jump on board with Movies Anywhere, which seems to have gotten most of their early kinks worked out...

They basically said what mrewster said... the code was never intended to be UHD, so it never will be. It's BS to me, but that's pretty much what they said.

Since Paramount doesn't seem to be responding or giving an answer. I've been advised to email Ultraviolet themselves at myuv.com - link is below, go to the bottom of the page and click contact us, send them an email through that. Need a fix before UV shuts down and I cannot port it to FN.
