The Producers, Rudy, So I Married an Axe Murderer were the last 3 of the 10 freebies from joining Vudu I hadn't upgraded..but they did today along with a few other SD titles. It would be much appreciated if a MOD could chime in and update us as to the reasoning for the gift?

I have 14 SD movies on Vudu. None of them upgraded. I think they were all purchased on Vudu (no codes or D2D).

This is MA doing it and no one seems to know why.

Why do you think MA is doing it? If MA grants you something it will show in the MA transaction log on the MA site.

First, the only one of my 4 freebies that I hadn't previously upgraded which is still SD in Vudu is Soul Survivors (a Lionsgate title, not MA).

Also, it's been posted elsewhere that this is cleanup from a glitch that happened during the DMA-to-MA changeover in 2017: Vudu SD titles from sign-up freebies, code redemptions, or Instawatch were erroneously upgraded to HD in MA during the initial link with Vudu. (D2D and transfers from other UV retailers, such as CinemaNow, Flixster & Target Ticket sign-up freebies, were left in SD; I'm not sure about other Vudu purchases.) MA fixed the glitch shortly thereafter and corrected the MA transaction history, but left them at HD in MA itself and at other MA retailers. Now, Vudu has upgraded them to HDX on our end as well.

None of my 3 SD movies were upgraded to HDX. All 3 are MA and from 3 different studios (Sony, Warner, and Marvel).

In addition to some of the movies I purchased as SD, one thing I did notice is that all of the DVD combo packs I bought at Walmart stores were converted. The American Pie 4-movie bundles, the Friday 3-movie bundle, the Underworld 3-pack, all of those types. Another thing I noticed, is that the last ten movies I've ordered from and in Vudu, all reflected HDX as the same price as SD ? liike I was getting the HDX version for SD price. I started noticing this during the Christmas season sales (when I bought a bunch).

I own 807 movies. Purchase by UV code SD & HDX on Vudu, D2D, and with Instawatch.

I found my upgrades only showed up in "my account: history".

                  My upgrades:
                  Bridesmaids
                  Semi-Pro
                  Zero Dark Thirty

If it were MA doing this, why is it not affecting all MA customers?

I was a DMA customer who migrated to MA, and I've had exactly zero titles upgraded from SD -> HDX over the past few days.

I'm right there with you on this. People keep saying this is "an MA thing" (both here, and other non-Vudu forums). I don't even have a Movies Anywhere account, have not (ever) had anything to do with them, yet I've got a ton of new HDX upgrades in Vudu. I have an ex-girlfriend who's got an MA account but not Vudu, has had no upgrades at all.

YES! This is where I got my SO I Married an Axe Murderer too, but mine did not upgrade

Several of my movies did, but not that one.

It wasn't D2D. I got it as one of my free movies for signing up for [the now defunct] CinemaNow back in 2013.
