Purchased UHD but need HDX... how do I change it?

I purchased the early release of A Star is Born in UDX not fully understanding what that meant, & discovered afterwards that my LG tv is one step down from that. I don?t mind buying another copy but when I click on the movie it just says I own it... any way to do this? TIA!

Vudu will play the highest possible format for the device you have. So, if you have the UHD version on your account, you can watch SD or HDX if that's all the device you're using will allow. So, by buying the UHD version, you also have the HDX and SD versions, if you prefer to look at it that way.

Yeah, if your TV is HD only, it should play it in HD instead of UHD, and both are the same price, so that shouldn't be a problem either way. And when you are able to upgrade your TV to UHD, you already own this great movie is the best quality.

Every UHD you purchase will play in HDX if that is the only resolution your device (your tv) supports, just press play.

I don't have any 4K devices yet but I purchase UHD movies because one day I will.

In addition to Vudu playing at a lower resolution than purchased to support whatever device is capable of you also have the option of changing to an even lower resolution than the device is capable of; either while playing in the pop-up menu or as option in some app versions setting menu.

Thx! However, is this the reason this is the only movie that doesn?t show up in my Amazon video library? All of my other Vudu purchases show across formats except that one, it?s why I found this frustrating...

The reason that movie doesnt show in other apps is because not every movie supports moviesanywhere. I own over 1700 movies and a few hundred only work in vudu and you will notice you cant buy them on movies anywhere either.

A Star Is Born should port over. The 1954 version, the 1976 version, and both the regular and Encore edition of the the 2018 version are all MoviesAnywhere compatible. Only the 1937 version is not but that one isn't available in UHD.

If you look this movie up in a web browser, what is movie's Vudu ID#? The ID# is the three to seven digit at the end of web address.

ID# would be in place of XXXXXX at the end of address: vudu/content/movies/details/A-Star-Is-Born/XXXXXX
