The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Extended Edition problem.

I bought the normal DVD from the store and redeemed my digital copy. However my dumb butt did make sure I got the 5 disc version so I can watch the Appendices. I want to both rebuy the HDX version with the bonus content, but I can't.

I can't get The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Extended Edition to show up in the search any more, and there is no option for me to rebuy the HDX version.

Guess what VUDU support told me?
Well, seems they ddidn't even bother to read my ticket because he sent me a link to The Hobbit: The Battle Of the Five Armies telling me to buy it.

Not the movie I am talking about, but thanks for not caring to read my ticket.

(P.S. My second picture was supposed to say "No option to buy a better version, No option to buy version with bonus features")

When a title can no longer be searched for then that means the title is "out of window". It's no longer available for rental/purchase.

Maybe in November or December when the Battle of Five Armies extended version comes out it will be "back in window".

early digital release should be Oct. for the EE of BotFA.

As I recall, when tLotR EE trilogy was available, Vudu had a major event with bundles, sales, the whole shabang.

The Bluray comes out Nov 17, so early digital would likely be Nov 3 or Oct 27.

A word of caution. When it pops into the available title list, instead of instinctively pressing the purchase button as I did last time, go do a hobby for a day or two. It is not uncommon for the "+ Bonus Feature" version to lag a day or two and you miss out if you press the purchase button a half a heart beat after you lay your eyes on it.

I bought the extended editions (digital) of "Lord of the Rings" after purchasing the regular editions on BD. I won't buy the extended editions of the Hobbit movies because IMHO, they weren't anywhere as good as the "Lord of the Rings".

I do agree, but I started down the EE road with this series and need to close the circle.

If I already had the theatrical, I too would not invest extra for EE.

Still, Hollywood film adaptations of tolkien are worthwhile investments. The man is a giant in literature, having founded the genera of Fantasy with the series.
