    InstaWatch - Decreasing Availability

It seems like InstaWatch has been dying a little more each month.

When it started there was a fair amount, including 3D, and vudu early viewing before disc. The titles weren't always properly labeled or easy to find but were there.

Vudu / Walmart starting improving the labeling and titles were easier to find, but things like 3D and early view started dropping off.

Lately it seems like there are very few titles added each week / month.

I'm sure this is another studio dropping support, but either way regardless it's highly disappointing as I was buying a LOT MORE, and I mean A LOT MORE blurays from Walmart, way more then I was buying from Vudu and Walmart combined before InstaWatch.

Now I'm back to buying Blu-Rays largely from Amazon and redeeming the UV with Vudu.

As you mentioned some movies are Instawatch eligible but not listed properly on walmart.com. For example Furious 7 is instawatch eligible, I just added it to my account by pre ordering the Walmart exclusive Blu-ray set. Note: It only gives the theatrical version with instawatch.

This is also true of blu-ray movies in general. In my area both BB and Walmart have severely reduced the number of blu-rays on display. I have no choice but to use Amazon or another online retailer because they're not keeping them on display anymore.

Still nearly impossible to find Instawatch titles.

The Instawatch category on Walmart.com is a constant mess. Selecting new doesn't really show new by release date, or date added. I'm not sure how it really works. If you search for titles that you want you MIGHT see then with Instawatch in the title but not see them in the Instawatch category.

This has been my gameplan for now that works for the most part is a bit annoying:

Each week I goto Vudu.com and look at New Movies - New To Own (not rent). Any titles I want I then search for on Walmart.com and add to cart all the titles. I process the order and wait to see if I get a notice of new titles to add email from Vudu for Instawatch. If I don't get the email or it doesn't have enough titles to keep free shipping on Walmart.com I go back to Walwart.com and cancel part or all of my order.

Everything else is just a guess.

I couldn't disagree more. To me it seems like Instawatch is increasing both in number of titles offered and in how well it works.

            Re: InstaWatch - Decreasing Availability

Earlier this week I ordered Scouts Guide To The Zombie Appocolypse which is marked as instaWatch and is also available as buy and watch early on Vudu. I never received the Your Movies Are Ready Email. I contacted Vudu support and this was a little back and forth and they asked for screen print of Walmart.com order and Movies Are Ready Email, which I didn't get which is why I don't have my movies. Then they forwarded my case to another department. It's been a couple days and nothing yet. So much for INSTAwatch. 😜

I also ordered Hotel Transavalna 2, The Walk and a few other titles also marked as InstaWatch. None came though. Created another case, asked for same info, transferred again. This time I was told they are preorder and Instawatch will only be available the day the movie releases on bluray.

Third order was for Hitman Agent 47. Also available for purchase and early viewing. Asked for same info. Transferred again. No movies yet and no response yet.

With my prior postings about searching and labeling on Instawatch and these newer problems I can't see how overall it's gotten better. Glad your experience has improved.

Whenever I order an instawatch title off of Walmart.com, it's in my library within 10 minutes and if it's an in-store purchase, it's in my library within seconds.

                Re: InstaWatch - Decreasing Availability

Currently InstaWatch is not always INSTANT Watch. There are quite a number of titles on Walmart.Com right now that say InstaWatch on them, some are available for purchase and watch on Vudu and some aren't.

According to Vudu senior staff they are now selling InstaWatch "Pre-Orders". In other words you buy it on Walwart.com but the Instawatch only appears on your Vudu account the DAY the disc releases, even if the title is available for purchase and watch on Vudu directly.

The problem stems from the fact that some Instawatch purchases are available immeditally when Vudu has the title on early release and some Instawatch purchases are considered "same day as disc" pre-orders even when Vudu has the movie for purchase and watch. There is no current way on Walmart.com to tell if you can watch now / early or only when the bluray releases.

Personally I think they should use another label. It's not really InstaWatch if you have to wait weeks for the movie to ship before you can watch it.

                  Re: InstaWatch - Decreasing Availability

                  Here's another perfect example.

                  The Walk
                  The Martian
                  Everest
                  Hotel Transylvania 2

There are 2D and 3D versions on blu-ray at Walmart.com. Both 2D and 3D are InstaWatch. All four titles can be purchased and watched early. 2 days after purchasing the 3D no InstaWatch in my account. Called Vudu customer service and was told they are pre-order only. Told them I had a similar issue with Scouts Guide To The Zombie Apocalypse and was forwarded to Promotions who stated they have issues and gave me a code to us. They escalated but still came back these four titles were pre-order only.

Logged back into Walmart.com and canceled my four 3D orders. Ordered the 2D versions and 5 min later they were in my Vudu account.

Soooo.... these four movies aren't pre-order only?!?! Both 2D and 3D are available for purchase and viewing on Vudu. So either the 3D InstaWatch should map to the 3D Vudu, or more likely the 2D Vudu. But ONLY the 2D InstaWatch maps to the 2D Vudu. Both 3D and 2D Instawatch are labeled the same on Walmart.com but obviouslly redeem different and doesn't match what Vudu customer case is stating either.

So frustrating. Just want to buy and watch but it's no where near the buying experience one would expect.
