flawed system - disc + digital shipping - suggestion to fix

The pricing of the newer disc and digital are around $25-30 and you get free shipping. When some titles get prices lower (I.e. how to train your dragon 2 4k for 19.96) this triggers a price point where the shipping is no longer free and now cost more than buying a 25 dollar movie that has free shipping. I do understand wanted to make money on shipping or cover expenses so I have 3 options to make this work.
    1) give the buyer the option to pick up the movie at Wal-Mart
    2) give the buyer the option to order a second disc and digital to hit the price point for free shipping.
    3) don't change 5.99 shipping when Wal-Mart's cost to ship it is under 2 dollars.

This is because it's just tied into Walmart for processing. WM offers free shipping on preorders. After preorder you have to hit order minimum to get free freight. Since Vudu doesn't support cart purchasing you'll unlikely hit order minimum. For most part whatever item price and shipping requirements are at WM are what you get at Vudu.

It sucks, but well there it is.

This has been an issue that different people, myself included, have complained about in the past. Let's face it, there is no love for those of us who are still collecting physical disks. If the studios had their way, there would only be digital, and we seem to be moving closer and closer to that as time passes. Before that time comes, though, this is one example where it makes completely no sense at all where I can buy a pre-order new release, which traditionally has always been the most expensive the release will ever be, for $30.67, but I can wait until 2 days after it is released, and the same movie will cost me $37.65. While jeremymc7 provided a very accurate explanation how and why that occurs, it doesn't remove the fact that this is crazy wrong and should be changed. Just another example of no love being shown for physical disk collectors. Vudu tells us they can't do anything about it because it is a Wal Mart issue....wait, Vudu is owned by Wal Mart....

One more thing is that pre-order (generally) aren?t shipped by WM but are handled (largely) by third parties, typically distributors like Super-D who work directly with the studios.

Hey Jeremymc7, I just received Green Book and Mortal Engines, both pre-ordered, and both were shipped by Wal Mart.
