Re: VUDU UHD - Compatible Devices List

I love the program they are running where you can watch digital now, and get the disc. I wish they would do this for UHD discs though. My Sony 850C does not play UHD vudu, and probably never will. I have accepted that my movie source for 4k is UHD Blu Rays. I just wish I could watch Star Trek now, and get the UHD disc delivered. I mean....a blu ray gift set is a steal at 25 bucks...but I would pay $30 and get the UHD disc sent to me.......

Yep, that is exactly what is stopping me from from pre-ordering. I would be all over an offer that included the 4K disc.

I just hope that when I buy the 4K blu-ray that the digital code redeems the Vudu UHD version.

He may be referring to the difference between purchasing it UHD or HDX.
HDX is $19.99 and UHD $29.99

          Hi Tam!

Wouldn't the P-Series support Atmos over ARC since the ARC HMDI is v2.0 with HDCP 2.2? Or is this a completely different issue? I know the TV is DD+ certified so I'm guessing that's not the issue. I'd like to know a little more about ARC capabilities since I am planning on buying a TV that has the potential to support Atmos over ARC (as well as Dolby Vision over VUDU support).

          Thanks

I own the Samsung UN65KS8000 4K TV and its a UHD TV, but when I load up my vudu movies using the app on the TV it won't play my UHD movies, only plays them in HDX. Is this tv not compatible or do I have to set something up for it to play in UHD??

I have the JS9000 and it is not compatible with Vudu 4k as Vudu 4k compatibility is restricted to Dolby Vision and the only TVs that currently do Dolby Vision are certain Vizio and LG TVs.

              20 UHD
              754 HDX

Well that stinks! I have a couple vudu movies in UHD and can't view them in UHD. Hopefully they will update this soon.
I wonder if the Xbox One S will stream Vudu in 4K UHD, anyone know??

The Dolby Vision UHD titles can be played on VUDU-supported non-DolbyVision 4K devices as well as DV-capable TVs (currently this includes some 2016 LG TVs, Vizio TVs, Roku 4/Roku TVs, and Nvidia Shield).

UHD will be supported on Samsung 4K TVs (2016+ at first) and Xbox One S, though I can't provide specific timeline just yet. In general we are working on getting UHD support on as many devices as possible. But this requires significant work by both VUDU and the manufacturer for each device, so availability/time frames are not always under our control...

                    Jake,

Can you confirm if the newly released Roku devices will have UHD access? Specifically the Roku ultra and premiere+, which are also HDR compatible.

                    Thanks.

Yup, but the app doesn't logo doesn't have the 4K banner on it, like the Netflix one. So, before I consider buying , i was wondering if it will for sure be supported.
