True - but also in theory the SmartCast TV should behave identically to a ChromeCast Ultra.

Going back to a previous comment: what are the specific "audio issues" people are experiencing with the P-series? We can try to reproduce and pass them along to Vizio, as it definitely should be able to output DD+/Atmos over ARC when casting to it directly.

Yup... And SOL, because I am in the same boat...I have the 65" EF9500. No love from LG on WebOS 3.0 which is what is apparently needed to get VUDU UHD content.

Google Play is looking like they will offer UHD content sometime around November to coincide with the ChromCast Ultra. That is supposed to support VUDU UHD, and Google Play Movies UHD among some others...

For me it's just loss of audio completely when using ARC from Vizio TV. Strangely enough it didn't happen the last time I watch a Vudu DV title (Warcraft) so it's not consistent which makes it harder to isolate.

Not sure I will purchase a Chromecast Ultra if it's identical to the SmartCast TV?

If you have any titles that you know this happens with currently, let us know...

I've previously mentioned these before, it has happened on:

Everest UHD (when turning on subtitles) and Mad Max Fury Road UHD (3 times in first half hour) so I stopped watching.

Right, I remember now. It sounds like Vizio may in fact have broken DD+/Atmos over ARC since you mentioned it worked until the last firmware update. I'll see if we have any word from them or can reproduce...

                Jake,

I am planning to upgrade to the Samsung KS8000 in the coming months and wanted to know if Vudu plans on offering UHD HDR10 support on it in the near future?

Would hate to spend the money on it if it won't be able to do it.

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

Samsung 2016 TV 4K/UHD support (in SDR) is getting close (likely before the end of the year). HDR10 is in the works but a bit further out. That's about as specific as I can get...

Sorry, just remembered that their were a lot of audio dropouts on "Into the Storm" UHD as well.

We're still looking into this, but VUDU QA told me they previously had seen issues with some Denon receivers with Atmos audio glitches that may have been a Denon firmware issue (did not happen on other models). You may want to check that the receiver firmware is up to date as well.

My Denon X6200W provides notifications when a firmware update is available and I update at that time so I'm current on firmware.

The specific Denon model we had trouble with was a 1st-gen Atmos capable receiver (2014?) so I'm not saying it's necessarily the cause, just exploring options.

I was excited to get HDR via streaming because my 9600 can't do HDR over HDMI hopefully we get the update as well. If TV's can display HDR they should be able to get the update.

Question about the upcoming Xbox One S Vudu App. Will it support Dolby Vision? Or will it only use HDR10 (when available)? Or no HDR at all?
