The Xbox One S doesn't support Dolby Vision. It should support HDR10 when available on the service (sorry, can't provide an ETA on that yet), until then it will be 4K SDR.

          Jake,

I have picked up the new Roku Ultra and am having issues with playing Vudu UHD movies.

I did have a Roku 4 and it worked fine with the same TV (Vizio M70-c3), AVR (Denon 1200) and high speed HDMI cables.

What is happening is I can get it to work by exiting the Vudu app and rebooting the Roku but each time I am done with the Roku and switch to a different source for at least several hours, when I switch back to the Roku and Vudu app, and start an UHD movie, I get the 'HDCP 2.2 is not supported' message and it plays in HDX format.

Rebooting the Roku fixes the issue every time. This only happens with the Vudu app. Netflix & Amazon UHD always works fine.

Is this something that you could have looked at?

          Thanks

Well VUDU, it's been a year and you are still stubbornly refusing to support any TV that is not specific LG or VIZIO models.

And you are still stubbornly sticking with Dolby Vision, despite 99.99999999% of Planet Earth only utilizing HDR10.

At the time your response was along the lines of "We are working to include all models of 4K TVs all the time. Check back with our list of approved devices to see when yours is supported". And in the last YEAR, you have not included a SINGLE new 4KTV.

Your excuse up until now has been "Well then buy a Roku". Of course Roku did not support HDR.

Now finally Roku DOES support HDR.....but not Dolby Vision, only HDR10.

So when are you guys going to join the rest of reality and support the vast universe of 4K sets and HDR10? You can probably do that already, you just need to click a button.

So as I accused you of at the time, and which has born out to almost certainly be true, you idiotically signed some sort of exclusivity deal with Dolby Vision. The world is pointing and laughing at your backwards ways and your customer base is beyond frustrated.

But hey, you've certainly helped the 4K UHD disc launch because that way people can actually watch 4K movies.

Um... someone's a bit behind on the news and cranky about it.

I definitely understand this guys frustrations. I still use vudu for HDX releases, but if a movie comes out and will be in UHD I am buying on UHD Blu Ray. I don't see myself changing this even if Vudu releases UHD HDR for my TV or my xbox one. The reason I don't think I will do that is I don't like being bound to the internet. I like to have physical copies that I know will work. I would love an option to stream a movie where it downloads slightly ahead of the stream to ensure quality.

Unfortunately, I have to agree, I can't see moving away from UHD blu-ray until/unless Vudu gets the bugs worked out and raises the picture quality to be close to UHD blu-ray.

I moved from a Roku 4 to the Roku Ultimate in hopes that the "Can't play UHD - 2.2 DHCP" error that I get when playing UHD would be fixed but it is not. Rebooting the Roku fixes it until the next day, but that is a pain.

They can say it is not their app that is the issue but UHD on Amazon and Netflix does not EVER have this issue using the Roku and all of the same equipment.

I agree, streaming or casting UHD is too indefinite where you don't know whether it will work or not. Also, the prices are so ridiculously high for UHD that it's cheaper to buy the disc. Also, it seems Vudu hardly ever has sales on the UHD versions of the movies.

As the owner of a Mi Box, I can tell you that it does not work for UHD in vudu.
