The device had issues playing back VUDU UHD on launch - we are working with Xiaomi to support this in an update.

Any idea when more devices will be added? I have a Sony Bravia XBR65810C with the VUDU app and it currently only allows HDX even though the set is a 4K set. I also have an xbox one s connected via high speed hdmi. I only have one title on my VUDU in UHD, but really want to buy more and utilize my TV.

Are you able to change the audio output to Bitstream on the LG? I have an LG as well and it does not output Bitstream and therefor I cannot get atmos via the TV.

Hi, does anyone else have problems with Roku Ultra when u play an UHD movie in Dolby Atmos, then exit and go to Netflix and play a movie in plain DD 5.1, it tries to play in Dolby Atmos in a non tolerable, distorted manner? I then have to reset the Roku to get it to play DD correctly. Turning off receiver doesn't help. I have the Roku set to Auto in the audio settings cause it won't do Atmos on any other setting. Not sure what to do. It seems u could leave it on auto and it pass thru to receiver with no issue. Thanks.

I don't use my Ultra for Vudu UHD movies since it doesn't do Dolby Vision so I haven't tried that. I will try it once Vudu implements HDR-10.

Yes, I have the same issue. The Vudu Atmos signal does not clear. Not sure if it is the Vudu app or the Roku Ultra though.

Dolby Vision has additional metadata beyond the basic 4K/24Hz/12 bit 4:2:0 video data to do extra things like explicit control LED TV local dimming, etc - ideally a receiver will pass everything through, and I hope it does. If I get any more info I'll pass it on. Honestly the Chromecast Ultra is the first non-TV device to support DV so it's kind of bleeding edge...
Hey Jake, now that the Chromecast Ultra is on sale would you be able to test this setup in your lab? A BestBuy consultant told me that Dolby Vision requires HDCP 2.2 in order to pass the signal through. If you have multiple receivers maybe you could try both versions of HDCP and test that theory.

                  Thanks!

I can confirm that it is the Roku Ultra. I took it back to Bestbuy and got the Premier+, no issues with the sound. It doesn't have the remote finder, USB port or the optical out. I personally don't need either. Hope that helps y'all, God bless. Thanks.

                      Hello,

I have reached out to ROKU about a fix. They are aware of the problem and are currently working on a fix.

                      Thanks

I moved from a Roku 4 to the Roku Ultimate in hopes that the "Can't play UHD - 2.2 DHCP" error that I get when playing UHD would be fixed but it is not. Rebooting the Roku fixes it until the next day, but that is a pain.

They can say it is not their app that is the issue but UHD on Amazon and Netflix does not EVER have this issue using the Roku and all of the same equipment.
I had this issue from the Roku 4 with the Vudu app. But I have yet to see it from my Roku Ultra.

It also doesn't have the voice search. Which I've found I've used much more often than I expected with my Ultra in my UHD setup. So much so that I will probably pick up a Roku Ultra for my 2K setup instead of the Premiere or Premiere+ like I had originally planned.

Thanks,Tam ...looking forward to a fix for my Ultra as well..

Also would it be possible for vudu to have a 24hz auto mode in the vudu settings menu for us who want to watch our 4K UHD films in 24p....Thanks

Re: VUDU UHD - Compatible Devices List

I did not see in this thread if the chromecast ultra will be able to display Dolby Vision using Vudu. It is my understanding that all you need is a receiver with HDCP 2.2 and an HDMI 2.0 in order to pass the DV.

Trying to determine if Vudu will stream DV through my following set up (below top to bottom is how the stream will reach my tv):
                              chromecast ultra
Onkyo TX NR3030 (only and HDMI 2.0)
HDBaseT sender/reciever (I have a kanex pro that is capable of 4k/30hz, I also have an 4k UHD gefen that will do deep color)
                              LG OLED65B6P

If I can get the chrome cast ultra to stream DV I don't need to purchase a HDMI 2.0a capable receiver at the moment.

I am trying to not loose Dolby Atmos by using the TV app. My TV can not send Atmos through ARC and neither of my HDBaseT will do ARC so I am left with DV with DD+ through optical, or UHD (no DV) with Atmos with through my reciever.

                              Thanks
