Re: VUDU UHD - Compatible Devices List

Is there an updated list, this was posted in 2015. I have a Samsung 55" 4K TV and it is not showing options for any UHD titles.. I am using vudu directly from the TV app. I also have a PS4, an Roku1, a Xbox 360. So far the only device that shows 4k options are on my phone.. why would that be? And if option to stream from phone to TV, wouldn't that degrade the pic so much that it would no longer be 4k quality.. I also have 55mbps internet speed, and half the time vudu has trouble streaming regular HD. Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

Re: VUDU UHD - Compatible Devices List

I have a LG OLED65B6P and I'm only getting SD and no HDR with the vudu TV app.

I did some more testing today. This time I reset all my routers and hubs in the house. I also ran the bandwidth test on vudu's website to verify I was good. And I tested casting with 2 phones, an iphone 7 plus and a Nexus 6.
And agian, my tv is a LG65OLEDB6P.

The vudu iphone app has issues and will only show SD. Casting is also SD only.
The nexus lets me select quality level and I was able to cast in HDX. Even though I could select UHD it wouldn't go past HDX. Neither phone resulted in HDR in vudu.

The Vudu TV app will only play SD even though there are indicators that titles are available in UHD and Dolby Vision.

I also tested on a different TV with my Nvidia Shield Android TV and VUDU and it would also only play in SD.

On the same TV netflix and amazon both play in 4k without issue. Not sure if what's going on with vudu is an account issue? My bandwidth checks out.

The original post is from a year ago, but it's been updated a number of times, including yesterday...

When will Samsung SUHD tv's be added to your list of compatible tv's? I feel like you are losing out on a lot of money limiting your compatible devices.

          Thank You!

I have the same TV as you and I don't have any issues streaming DV through the TV's VUDU app.. Is your VUDU app on your TV/phone the latest one? Also are you up-to-date on your TV firm ware?

On my phone the shows only show up with HDX but when I cast a show from my Chromecast Ultra it will infact play in UHD but with out DV even though it only says HDX in the movie title. Once it fires up the it indicates the stream is in UHD.

All apps and firmware are the latest.

On my nexus it won't go past HDX. Everything else stuck in SD. Wish I knew what was up.

Hi, is anyone having out of sync issues with the Roku Premier+. On mine the audio plays too fast on Vudu when hooked to my receiver. Also, has the Atmos signal sticking been fixed on the Ultra? I don't remember if the Ultra I took back cause of the Atmos issue had sync issues. Also, has the Mi box become Vudu uhd compatible yet? Thanks.

I'm getting the run-around with Customer Support and they're telling me I need to have a 2016 LG TV combined with the Chromecast Ultra to watch VUDU UHD. I don't believe this is correct.

Re: VUDU UHD - Compatible Devices List

                    Hi,

I didn't know this was a thing. I recently got a Samsung 4k HDR tv and an Xbox One S. Suicide Squad was the first UHD/4K movie I had planned to buy, and I had been looking forward to this for weeks. After the pre-order unlocked tonight, I was confused and upset to see that I could only play in HDX. I spend the extra $$ for the movie specifically for the UHD. I had no idea that VUDU only supported 4k on a small list of devices. I don't think that it's very prominently displayed when viewing titles. I only found out by Googling and finding this thread. Netflix had no issues playing 4k HDR titles, so I thought this was a done deal.

When buying a UHD title, it only says
To experience VUDU UHD, you'll need the right TV and setup. You can learn more at vudu.com/UHD.
When you just bought the aforementioned devices, and have been watching 4K content, one would assume you have the "right TV and setup."

So, when can I expect VUDU to add more devices? Needless to say, this is completely unsatisfactory.

Having the same issues with my Xbox One S. I have a Vizio M series, the latest 2016 model and I'm not even sure how to access the Vudu 4k movies through the app on my TV. This is highly frustrating given that the only device I've tried is the Roku 4. I returned it because for some reason I feel it is limited with my sound bar. If anyone can help out and tell me how this works without having to invest in a Roku 4 that would be great.

Is it possible to get some sort of timeframe on this update? Soon? or are we talking about Summer of 2017? A ballpark figure would be nice....

I recently wrote to customer service to ask when they will be adding more devices. No reply yet but it's only been a couple of days. It makes no sense to leave out UHD on devices they know are capable and have been around for a while. My PS4 can stream Netflix, Amazon, YouTube etc. in 4K...come on Vudu.

My $300 Samsung 4K Blu-Ray player has a Vudu app and no UHD playback capability for it. A device made solely for 4K viewing and the Vudu app won't support it. Why even make the app available for it?

I, like many others, have waited patiently for a while and as 2017 quickly approaches my patience wanes. Vudu has lost out on selling me many titles that I've gone and bought on 4K Blu-Ray instead.

How is it limited? I t would be no more limited for audio from the sound bar than from the TV.

How about adding stuff like other LG TV's that have the Vudu app built in? Ones like the 65EG9600 that's barely a year old. Or better yet, how about you just make the app detect that it's a 4k TV and enable support? It's really stupid to add one model at a time and keep everyone waiting. There's also no point in buying any 4k movies because you only support a small number of devices.
