There are still some 4k titles in my ultraviolet account that I cannot watch yet because they are linked to Flixster and it won't play 4k?
Also, any 4k Vudu movies that you access without DV capability is not going to have HDR. Clear as mud?

Vudu has specific security requirements that needs to be met for playback of UHD content. Sony doesn't seem to want to implement these security requirements. Which is why no Sony device has access to UHD from Vudu.

Dolby Vision has nothing to do with it.

I've been watching UHD from Vudu with Roku devices for a long time now. And Roku devices aren't Dolby Vision capable. So you play the Vudu UHD content in SDR.

Digital rights management is the worst or whatever is preventing parity across clearly compatible devices. Xbox One S but not PS4 Pro? That's just dumb. Sony and Vudu need to get on the ball. Until then, I'll just have to buy the 4K combo Blu-rays.

I am using a xbox one S on a Sony X850d 55 inch. I have some vudu movies in UHD, however none are giving me the option. Only HDX. For instance, when I start Batman V Superman, it shows I own UHD. But when I start it, its only in HDX. I can only choose HDX and SD. Any help please? I am using the supplied cable, meet the download speed, using HDMI 3 and made sure it has enhanced format

Hdr10 Panasonic tv here, chromecast ultra giving terrible UHD playback with burnt out whites and poor color. No adjustment to my various modes on tv result in correct playback (I'm a TV editor so have a reasonable understanding of these things). No word from Google about a fix, or Vudu about hdr10 support?

Are you 100% sure you own these titles in UHD? Does it say "YOU OWN UHD" in the upper left-hand corner of the title's info page?

Can anyone confirm that with the new Vizio software release the other day for the 2017 P and M line that they are now VUDU UHD w/ HDR compatible ?

                            https://www.theverge.com/2017/8/2/16...pdate-roll-out

Vizio still isn’t taking a traditional approach when it comes to smart TV apps, though. SmartCast isn’t running a custom-made app for a closed system that will never see a software update. Instead, Vizio’s “apps” are cloud-based HTML5 interfaces — basically, web apps — that can be updated without having to install new firmware on your TV.
                            http://www.prnewswire.com/news-relea...300487203.html

All VIZIO SmartCast displays feature Chromecast built-in, which allows viewers to browse thousands of Chromecast-enabled apps – including 4K and HDR content from apps like Netflix and Vudu – on their mobile devices.
It appears as if the HTML5 app's work exactly like the Casting just internally. So it should be good to go.

Any idea when the Samsung JS8000 (the 2015 models) and like series will get Vudu 4k support? We were promised that there would get every software update the ks8000s got. And the TV's currently support amazon, Netflix, fandangonow in 4k w/ hdr so the TV is obviusly plenty capable.

The search functions on these forums leaves a ton to be desired so please excuse this if it's a repeat of a past, past post.

UHD not even showing up... beyond the adbars. VUDU is built in, so what gives with not a hint at UHD 4K playback?
