I don't like the idea of paying a rental/purchase for a UHD file if it will not playback correctly.

That's a good point that I think a lot of us would like to try.

I ordered a Chromecast Ultra today to make sure I'm able to view 4K Vudu content. If that doesn't resolve the playbook issue I guess I'll have no alternative but to contact support to dispute the validity of the purchase since the information provided is incorrect. Anyone else have this issue?
I have a KS8000 and it plays UHD through Vudu app with no problem.

Any update on UHD playback on PS4 Pro?

Any idea when you'll enable support for the Samsung UN65JS9500? It's virtually the same as the UN65KS9500, runs the same OS and actually has a faster processor than the KS series. It should be an easy fix and win and it would make me very happy! I could have sworn UHD support was enabled at some point but it certainly hasn't been available for quite some time now. I can watch UHD on Amazon Prime and Netflix, just not Vudu. Thanks!

Don't count on getting UHD for any Samsung 2015 model. What I find amusing is you can get 4k UHD through Fandango Now.

yet a $400 unknown brand from 2016 with lesser tech specs can get it.... Just makes me laugh that it's the same OS as 2016 samsung models (and newer) and the tv is completely capable of running the UHD version, It's just vudu and/or samsung won't get their act together....

I want this myself, I have a Samsung 2015 65inch js8500 and every other streaming app supports UHD and HDR. Netflix, Amazon, Fandango Now....so I know the TV has the power to do it. Samsung also promised that all the software features of the KS would be added to the 2015, when they decided not to release a 2016 evolution box...so what the hell? It would be extremely easy to add this support.

If 2015 Samsung TVs don't receive an update.....this is exactly what is wrong with smart TVs and how things are currently. It's BS that a 2 year old tv no longer gets app updates when it's technically capable to handle this sort of thing. To this is why we need standards. The Vudu app hasn't been updated since 11/2016...every other app has recent updates in the last couple months...and I'm sure Vudu is the one that's dropping the ball here since they develop the app. Don't they want me purchase $30 4k movies?

I shouldn't have to buy a new tv every 2 years just to continue to receive support, and I shouldn't have to buy external devices to do the smart features when my tv s totally capable of doing the job...if the software developer would it get off their *** and update things. If that's how things are, just make dumb TV's.

I'm running Vudu through the LG TvOS. In the Vudu "settings" I see the option to "prefer" 4k video but when I run a UHD movie, the only options I get are SD and HDX.

I have an 80/80mbs internet. I'm running the TV off of wifi but have a top-of-the line wifi router (with 802.11ac) right below the TV (i.e. no interference and short range).

I can stream Netflix at 4k and HDR, but for some reason can not on my LG. So it is unlikely to be an internet based issue.

                    Recommendations would be appreciated.

                    Thanks.
Me too, got the LG 4K 65" C7P, SD & HDX shows only, joined Vudu a few days ago, tried it today with their free movie I tried SD & HDX, both of them pretty card close on viewing on our LG, we kept the movie at SD, looks real good, wife can't believe how good it looks! We get 3-4 bars on our WiFi SD, and 2-3 bars HDX from the Belkin Extender, main router 3 rooms down.

Shouldn't this constitute an update to the master list at the start of the thread? I suspect there's a few more that need to come on the list that people in the market for buying a TV (such as myself) know the expanding options for viewing VUDU UHD.

How do you get it with Fandango Now. I have a few UHD UV titles in Vudu but none show in FNow also FNow is terrible to navigate through.

Besides certain TVs with the FandangoNow app built in I only know of the Roku streaming devices that have FandangoNow 4k/HDR capability. My Roku Ultra gets FandangoNow 4k and HDR on certain movies.

Seriously, when is VUDU adding HDR10? There are so many 4k titles we're missing out on that are available on other services.

I should note this is the 2017 version, I also have the 2016 version and it hasn't been updated, they both have the same model number but have different UI.
