I agree. Apparently early on this page listed DV-compatible devices, but that was replaced with those supporting *any* flavor of HDR. I can tell you the Vudu app on my TCL 4K Roku TV (2018 5-series) displays DV flags on compatible movies, but the app on my Sony UBP-X700 does not (unless it works if you turn DV on in the firmware; apparently the UBP-X700's biggest shortcoming is its inability to auto-detect DV content on 4K Blu-rays even though it supports DV on those).

Not by a long shot, Try and get 4K or even 5.1 surround sound from Hulu. What a joke! For Vudu it is probably not their fault but the HDCP they are required to support that prevents more compatible devices and computers. I believe you have to have a certain Intel CPU and use the intel GPU on the CPU to watch on a computer. Then is your monitor connected so the PC sees the copy protection is connected?

I'm having trouble getting Vudu UHD titles to play on the 2019 shield pro. The option is there to rent UHD but I'll get a prompt at the rental confirmation stage, stating my system is limited to HDX.

I don't get the "HDX limited" prompt when using the Vudu app in my tv. But the tv doesn't support eARC so I wouldn't get ATMOS going that route.

I have zero issues with 4K/HDR/ATMOS content from other apps such as Netflix/Disney+

        Any suggestions?

        TV - Vizio P65-F1
        Receiver - Marantz SR6013
Nvidia Shield Pro 2019 running 8.1.1(32.7.301.99)

Can you play VUDU titles in UHD that you already own (if any)?

This sounds like an HDCP issue where there is some problem detecting HDCP 2.2 support that is required for UHD playback. I'll forward this thread to on to see what can be found.

This may be a display bug, we are investigating. Fid you try playing the UHD title? Understand if you didn't want to rent UHD if you are told it won't play... but if you have any other UHD movies try one out, if it works then it's just wrong info in the purchase dialog.

Did Vudu get a PQ curve calibration or something?

There is so much more depth, brighter highlights, color is amazing, more visible detail and dynamic tone mapping is at its best. Dolby Vision performs exceptionally on my 2016 Vizio P55-C1.

If you have a 2016 Vizio P-Series, for streamed UHD HDR/DV sharpness at 4 is perfect. Note: P55-C1 has a RGB IPS panel

Sorry, I don't own any titles on Vudu yet.

I haven't actually rented/played a UHD title yet so I can't confirm the prompt is just an error. All UHD titles I've come across give the UHD rental option (along with the hdx limited prompt) except all three of the latest Star Wars movies. Which don't even give a UHD rental option even though all info on screen indicates they're available in DV and atmos. Which leads me to believe the app believes my system isn't UHD capable even though it is.

Update: I successfully rented Transformers Age of Extinction in UHD even though it indicated my system was limited to HDX.

Thanks for the update. The dialog messaging will be fixed in the next app release.

Can anyone tell me why I cannot sign into the VUDU app from my Sony Bravia 850g cannot login to the app?

Now that Vudu is under the Fandango umbrella, any chance it officially shows up on Fire TV like it's FandangoNow cousin?

I predict it does, since FandangoNow debuted on Fire TV this year.

Sideloading it works, but you are only limited to UHD.

Here's hoping Amazon and new Vudu make nice, then.
