Have you tried setting the picture setting to VIVID. This seems to make the colors more vibrant. I should the colors to LG and they will see if they can improve or suggest a setting.

As for the grain, that is actually in the movie you are watching. The grain is purposely added to the content to add depth and eliminate the soap opera effect and give the movie a more cinematic look.

      Thanks

Thanks for the response. I adjusted the picture settings to Vivid as suggested. I've added a few additional titles in UHD.

In the Heart of the Sea looks really good in UHD. I can definitely see a difference.

Batman V Superman, Man of Steel, Watchmen, Lego Movie, & San Andreas still look worse than there HDX counterparts. I know 3 of the movies were done by the same director but the other 2 still look dull when watching. The colors aren't vibrant.

It's odd that In the Heart of the Sea looks great while the other movies don't. Only problem I saw while watching In The Heart of the Sea was at the end credits. It kept flashing white in the background while the credits scrolled. Can you check if you exhibit this same behavior while on the Vivid setting?

      Thank you!

Is Samsung ever going to get some love or is Vudu getting paid by Vizio?

Had the 4KTV for 6 months now.

That's going to be hard since Vudu still doesn't use HDR10 for some reason.

              Along with HDR10 please!!!!

I've been with Vudu since late 2007/early 2008. I would love to give them some money for UHD titles. But without HDR10 it isn't worth it to me. Since HDR is the biggest improvement with UHD content. But most HDR TVs don't have access to Dolby Vision. They have HDR10. Including my Sony UHD TV.

What about VIZIO 2016 Smartcast E-Series 4K TVs? All Vizio's use the same smart cast technology.

Please note that all the Dolby vision titles has been reviewed by Dolby and Warner and both have signed off on the Picture quality on the LGTV. That being said it could be a bug with the LGTV SW.. If this is the case I will push on my end for LG to address it. I will do a side by side of your LG TV model with the Vizio Reference Series and see what the difference is in picture quality.

The TV is An LG 65E6. It is running the most recent Vudu update and the most recent LG update. All titles look fine for color in HDX. The titles I have in UHD with Dolby are Sherlock Holmes, Goodfellas, Intern and Conjuring. They all have this issue. Titles with Dolby vision from Netflix are not having this color issue. Same wth 4K UHD discs with HDR. It's like everything is green and purple, with no blue or deep red. It's so distracting you can barely watch the titles. It's not a minor error. I used to do professional television calibrations for iSF/Magnolia home theater, so if you need help I'm pretty technical and can give you specific settings easily, but I don't pop into this forum all that often. I have been ignored by customer service, who seems to think I have an issue with my router. (Seriously?)

                    Hello That1guy

I do not have an E6 in my test lab. I will request LG for one so I can do a side by side comparison.

Could you PM me a screen shot so I can also show the LG engineer. We have been debugging this on other LG models I have in the test lab and both VUDU and LG do not see any issues with the colors.

Can you also tell me the FW your LG TV is on that way we can roll our devices to that FW version as well and make sure we are seeing what you are seeing.

                    Thanks,

I just purchased a new 4k TV that runs Opera TV apps, including VUDU.
As of now it appears that is only supports HDX/1080p.

Will there ever be support for this? Looks like if you don't have an LG, Vizio, or Roku 4, you are completely out of luck.

Only if Vudu decides to support HDR10 like everyone else. Because the XBOne S doesn't do Dolby Vision. Only HDR10.

HDR has nothing to do with the Xbox One S supporting Vudu UHD. The Shield can do Vudu UHD now with great results.

I think the poster was referring to the fact that Vudu is strictly dolby vision and not hdr10. The xbox one S will do HDR10, and does with the netflix app, but even if Vudu UHD becomes available on the xb1s we will won't get do hdr10. If vudu doesn't allow hdr10, several people with UHD tvs won't even see a difference from upscaled 1080p to UHD.

Wrong. And I fully get what they were saying and who supports what HDR format. You guys get too stuck on one aspect of the tech, and that has nothing to do with Vudu bringing the UHD service to the xbox. Now when talking standard blu-ray vs UHD on smaller screens, sure the 2160p resolution wont make a difference and the HDR will, but when it comes to streaming the UHD tiers use more bandwidth and the PQ is superior IMO.

Let me break it down for you. Regardless of HDR, the UHD tier on both Netflix and Vudu is a higher bitrate and the quality is hands down better than the HDX version. I used the shield for a little while and tested this out.

And as far as DV goes, Vudu is f'ing up there. HDR10 has more support and a dynamic version is coming. Seeing as some manufacturers wont even touch DV, it's gonna die on the vine, but I think Vudu and LG, as well as a few others are in cahoots to push the DV side. Too bad though.

Long story short, you do not need HDR to benefit from the 2160p streaming tiers, so Vudu needs to be getting their updated app out to these devices ASAP.
