Re: VUDU UHD - Compatible Devices List

@Jake any specific time frame when VUDU will start supporting HDR 10? How about 4k content from studios such as Fox, Sony, and Lionsgate?

Re: VUDU UHD - Compatible Devices List

3 weeks left in the year and still no UHD support on Samsung 2016 4K TV models as noted should be before the year's end. Still can be but would be nice to know for sure. Also, HDR support is "down the road" but would it be hard to give an idea of what that means? 3 months from now? a year? Just toss us a ball park and we'll be happy.

Vudu really needs to step their game up, big time. Would be wise (and professional) to communicate and give more regular updates (weekly?) instead of radio silence for a month plus. All this is doing is making people mad and running them away from the service. Not exactly ideal for a company when it can be easily resolved with a simple post acknowledging the current state of feedback seen in this thread lately.

Actually I have have provided as much information as I can on the forums several times this month already. I commented on this thread a bit over a week ago, but there is no new information.

While VUDU (like most companies) doesn't generally pre-announce specific release dates of new features, we understand that with 4K many people may want to make purchasing decisions based on device support. We are very close to releasing UHD streaming on several devices - including 2016 Samsung TVs - but since it often depends on device firmware fixes it's not entirely in our hands. Similarly, we definitely will be supporting HDR10 on capable devices. I can't give any specific timelines, but less than a year is pretty safe

          That's excellent info, thank you!

2016 Sony XBRs wouldn't be in the same good graces would they?

2016 Sony Android TVs are in the UHD & HDR10 plan. Though being a completely different app (Android TV) from the other devices mentioned it is on its own schedule. The short of it is, we want VUDU UHD everywhere we can get it as soon as we can offer it, just like you do!

Are you able to share whether the 4K TiVo Bolt is among the devices the you reference above? Pretty please??

I see on the Samsung site that the Vudu app was just updated today 12/14/16. My TV isn't seeing it yet, but I'm curious if this possibly added UHD support?

May I ask where on the Samsung site you saw this? Link please. Thanks.

I have the KS9000 and this app hasn't yet been pushed to it - even a reinstall doesn't change the current installed version. The description on the Samsung site doesn't mention anything different from the current description - just the date changed.

The description is the same as the current installed version - so I'm hoping maybe they just didn't update it

Really want this app updated so I can watch my UHD titles. Don't want to deal with a Roku right now.

OK, Samsung came out with new firmware today, 1155.0, and still no VUDU UHD. Does Vudu need to do something now to turn it on, like a new widget?
