It's one thing that the app isn't yet Dolby Vision capable, but it won't even allow for the HDR10 playback either. Very disappointing. Customers shouldn't have to buy streaming devices to get a better version of the Vudu app!!

Superman, a banner across the top of the TV was displayed with logos for UHD, HDR, and ATMOS, yet the movie is not activating HDR10 on my TV.

I also noticed the first post was edited a couple of days ago and the 2016 KS TVs are still listed as not being able to process HDR10 with the Vudu app. So I want to confirm that the app on my TV cannot playback in HDR10, regardless of what the notification banner states.
These TVs (and 2015 Samsung TVs) will first require a firmware update from Samsung before they will be able to play back 4K + HDR

Do you plan to support Sony Android TV?s any time soon?

I have a Sony Bravia XBR55X930E which support 4K HDR10 and will be receiving an update to support Dolby Vision soon. It has the Vudu app preinstalled on it, but not only doesn?t it support HDR, it doesn?t support 4K. All that?s needed is an Android TV app since the TV runs Android TV 7 which has built in HDR support. The Netflix and Amazon apps on the TV both support 4K and HDR.

I thought Dolby Vision was hardware based? I know HDR10 is software based and can be added to a TV via software update.

My new Samsung Blu-ray Disc Player UBD-M9500 locks up when I now try to play UHD through the VUDU app. I have to restart it. Is there an update to the app that I don't have yet? The player is up to date.

To view a movie in HDR 10 does it have to be a movie purchased through VUDU. Or can it be a digital copy from a redemption code offered from a 4K bluray disc

My understanding is the hardware is there, but the software doesn?t support it yet. Sony advertises that the TVs support DV with an asterisk staring coming in a future update.

In any case VUDU doesn?t even support 4K on Sony TVs, which they can definitely do.

Is there going to be UHD and HDR10 support on the Apple TV 4K? Love using VUDU for my movie collection, but I hate having to use multiple devices just to access my UHD collection.

Excellent news. Going to check this out on my Vizio M series. We just need those uhd titles prices to come down. Having the title in hdx format and still having to pay full price for the uhd version kinda sucks.

No support for Sony? Every 4k TV they make have the Vudu app.

Any word on when Sony UHD devices, specifically the UPB-X800 Blu-ray disc player, will be supported?

                            Comment

Still waiting for support on Sony Bravia, specifically my 800D. Just picked up two UHD movies to test during this sale only to find out that the VUDU app does not support UHD or HDR. Between the no support and the far more appealing free updates on iTunes I've been thinking of doing something I never thought I would and get an AppleTV.
