Is HDR grayed out on all UHD titles or just one specific one? Depending on your TV model, to support HDR10 you may need to turn on "deep color" (or whatever they are calling it).

If it's just one title, note we are still working on adding HDR10 support for all of our UHD titles - currently over half should support it (and any released in the past few months).

I am also having someone look further into the buffering on Shield you have reported - generally the Shield has excellent streaming performance so of course we'd really like to track down your problem.

Roku Ultra can be user selected deep in the system / advanced display settings to auto adjust the frame rate. There is also a 4:2:2 chroma option. More info:

Any word on 2017 Sony TV's getting the updated App that supports 4K HDR? I also would be interested if any word on the Sony X700 UHD player getting an updated app that supports HDR. Finally to round out my requests I also have a Apple TV 4K and it needs an updated app as well. Only my ROKU Ultra currently supports 4K HDR and Atmos. My other devices are stuck in the past so I only have one display that gets the VUDU love. Any of those three on the horizon for an update?

Vudu UHD movies are 24 fps. TV display frame rate / conversion depends on the device and possibly what you choose in settings.

J-series TVs are from 2015 and will not get UHD support. We are working with Samsung to support 2016 and newer 4K TVs. What is the model of your MU-series? 4K 2017 TVs should have Vudu UHD support AFAIK.

So, is this an appropriate place to talk about all the issues I'm having with my Samsung KS8000 and VUDU UHD movies? They are pretty much all pixelating like crazy in UHD, and Samsung has no answers. These same titles work in the FandangoNOW app, but that app is awful and I'd prefer to not use it. I got a Chromecast Ultra to try and access that way, but of course that isn't working now either. Any insight? I have a bunch of UHD movies that I've paid for and I can't watch.

@Jake I am also interested in this as well. I saw the 2018 Sony TVs are not using android 8, so it should be possible to update. Looking forward to 4K HDR on my X930E.

When is PS4 Pro support coming? Sony put VUDU on blast on their official forums:

"It's up to Vudu whether or not to enable UHD streaming on the app."

                        So what's going on?

                        Comment

I am having problems with the VUDU app on my Roku Premiere+. HDR is greyed out on all titles including Warner titles. HDR works just fine on FandangoNOW app on the same Roku player. I did need to force the Roku into the 4K HDR 60 HZ setting using the secret Roku menu.

My Roku Premiere+ is set to 4K HDR 60 HZ
I have a Samsung MU8000 and color is set to UHD color
I am using an Onkyo TX-NR656 receiver and have tried switching it from Deep Color on to off and back to on again with no avail.

Nothing I have tried has worked. I will say that the VUDU app that's built into the Samsung TV plays the titles in HDR, but then I lose my receiver audio. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

                          EDIT

I'm going to try and change my HDMI cables since they are a "few" years old. A direct connection between Roku and TV does allow HDR to work. The existing cables do say high speed on them, but they could be the problem; they were probably considered "High Speed" at the time they were made (2012) but not based off of today's standards; these are the ones I have https://www.monoprice.com/product?c_...seq=1&format=2 they are 10.2 Gbps rated. After reading more, it looks like my old cables are based off of the HDMI 1.4 standard and that's why they are not working.

Ordering 18Gbps cables from Monoprice.... I'll report back if this fixes the problem.

Be nice to see Phillips added to the list....tv came with vudu already installed. Kind of stupid to have a 4k tv that can't stream my uhd vudu movies.

Jake With the release of the latest ios app yesteday, are the chrome-cast issues resolved or is there going to be another update? I noticed that UHD casting is not even an option on my iphone, while it is on my android tablet even though it doesn't stream anything besides an error message?
