Does anyone know if the Fury products can duplicate the correct EDID that would signal the VUDU stream to send Dolby Atmos?
    https://www.hdfury.com/shop/

I have a non compatible 1080p TV, but my processor is a Marantz AV7702 Atmos. I am planning to buy either:
    • Nvidia Shield TV
    • Roku Streaming Stick+, Premiere+, Ultra

      Hi everyone,

New to the community here, so hello to all. I seem to notice it here and there scattered in the forums, but is there no fix for the issue of "Sorry, The Player Has Stopped Working" when casting from Google Chrome (on a Mac)? I was so excited to get THE LAST JEDI in UHD, but the player craps out every 30 seconds to 5 minutes. Incredibly frustrating. I have troubleshooted every which way but loose, even hardwiring the computer and the TV to my network.

I have an x900e, and was also incredibly frustrated to find out the VUDU app is horribly outdated, and doesn't stream in 4K. However, I did find some users mention sideloading the current VUDU app which I was able to do, and get 4K picture, BUT, of course, only outputting PCM 2.0. I was using THE LAST JEDI as a test.

I have have the app sideloaded as well on a 55x900e, but the hdr on UHD makes all the movies incredibly dark. Do your 4k movies stream with HDR on your app or did you figure out a way to turn it off?

It was not streaming in HDR with the sideloaded app. On my x900e, when the TV gets HDR content, the brightness slider goes to "Max", and when I go to picture settings, I see the HDR logo in the top right of the screen. The sideloaded app unfortunately did neither of these things.

I resorted to a $60 Roku Ultra. Was tired of messing with it. Kind of ridiculous to buy another component to get 1 app that should be working on a $3000 "Smart" TV to work properly. I don't know if you blame Vudu, or Sony, or both, but very frustrating.

I see that Sony 2018 4K TVs have been added to the list. I have a 2018 Magnolia Sony - 77" Class (76.7" Diag.) - OLED - 2160p - Smart - 4K Ultra HD TV with High Dynamic Range. I have the latest and greatest firmware for the TV. I have tried using the VUDU app in the TV for streaming Thor Ragnarok and only SD/HDX are available. I have purchased UHD. Is that particular TV on the "approved list"? Do I need to use the browser and go to vudu.com to stream 4k?

I have a Sony Bravia XBR55X900C 2015 model with HDR. I'm sure models this old will probably not get an update for VUDU 4K which sucks. I wouldn't have bought that TV if i knew i couldn't watch 4K movies from VUDU. Just like the 3DGO app from Sensio for Vizio 3D TVs back in 2011 i'm betting we will just get a run around. My TV OS is version 7. This Sony TV also can't get 3D movies from VUDU.

Are the XBR55X900C TVs due to get updated for 4K on VUDU? How far back in model years for Sony 4K on VUDU?

I also would like to know why there is no support for playstation 4 Pro? I have a fiber connection, and cannot view my UHD content. Can you guys please care enough to fix this?

just to confirm: you are using the Vudu android TV app? (if not, check the Google Play Store).

Hello Jeffrey, I see that you have updated the UHD Compatible Devices List. Am i wrong in thinking that Vudu has chosen to prioritize adding 2018 devices this list?

                        Comment

The latest Android tv vudu app was working on my Sony a1 (2017) TV in hdr and 4k. So is can work on Sony tv's.

Since updating to dolby vision firmware the vudu app will not play uhd content.

I hope this is fixed soon.

Any plans for the Sony UBP-X800 UHD Blu-ray Player? Currently, the only way I can play UHD w/ Dolby Atmos is through a UHD disc and I would rather purchase on-line from Vudu. So, I am buying discs instead of flowing revenue to Vudu!! On my Samsung TV, I can watch in UHD, but cannot take advantage of Dolby Atmos due to ARC pass-thru limitations to the Samsung soundbar.

I would much rather purchase on Vudu and have them on-line.

I'm curious, what version of the VUDU app did/do you have...? As I got my 940E AFTER the 0075 firmware was released and I never tried the VUDU app prior to updating to 0075 update.

First it probably is the TV companies pushing VUDU to prioritize newer TV's so they can sell them. Second if the VUDU app is available on 2018 TV's it could be ready for the 2017 TV's as well but since there is no way to update it on our 2017 TV it maybe Sony that is sitting on the app or doing their own testing.

Jeff at least your app is 1080p on my Sony TV. Sony seems to think crackle and it's crappy 480p is worth being an app on my TV. I am sure a DVD would loo better than the crackle app.
