Why doesn't my note 9 play any 4K movies that I bought if my note 9 has 4K in it

Dont be fooled by those "atmos" demos on Vudu. They are HDX and therefore have no Atmos, if you look at the description, it says:

      HDXHDX
      1080p, Dolby Digital Plus 7.1
      SDSD
480p, Enhanced Widescreen, Dolby Digital Plus 7.1

So yes, 7.1..... and yes it works. But its *not* Dolby Atmos

Have had a Sony UBP-X800 for nearly a year. Let?s be honest, this is goddang ridiculous. We?ve waited forever for support.

So, *now* my Vudu app says it has UHD! I almost fell out of my chair! And then I rented a movie, it gives you the typical ?make sure your setup has UHD capability? warning, which gave me a slight worry.

Then...after hitting ok, Vudu proceeds to say ?it appears your setup is not set up for UHD playback but you can watch in downgraded HDX.?

Argh!! No Vudu! My setup is perfectly optimized for UHD playback! Netflix streams 4K and Atmos through my UBP-X800 and guess what Vudu! So does Amazon now! That?s right! You lose!

(Other than there?s no Atmos support yet, at least I can get my UHD rentals going on my projector setup finally.)

So even though the app now lets me rent UHD content, I still can?t watch it? Is that other X800 users still too? Or just my setup? Why would it work on Netflix and Amazon?

If not, come on Vudu, you?re now teasing us with the possibility but still not supporting playback? Can you sense our collective frustration? Sony UBP-X800, we?ve waited long enough.

I have a Philips 6000 series TV which is in the supported device list. However, when I try to rent UHD movies Vudu says it is not supported. Is anyone aware of a setting I may be missing to get it to work?
          TV: Philips 75PFL6601/f7 firmware PHL-0S0IU_119_0

          Vudu Software
          UI: 4.0.03 (267297)
          Embedder: SystemDriverMstar 3.1.0.1004
          Client: 3.1.0 (rev 148342)

Ok got my SonyUBP-X700 to stream 4k and ATMOS via my Crestron...but it doesn't even recognize any ATMOS on Amazon and my Apple TV does...any thoughts?
And I see lots of you saying you are getting VUDU ATMOS via a Roku Ultra...Roku tells me not possible...what am I missing

Is there any plans at all to add the UBD-K8500 to your list of 4k UHD compatible list? I've had this unit for about 2 years and still not sure why it hasn't been able to make the list as of yet. I LOVEEE Vudu, but I don't want to have to upgrade my 4k player that works perfectly on other sites (Amazon, Netflix). Reading through these threads, I also see that there are tons of Vudu customers that also own this UHD 4k blu-ray player.

Thanks in advance for any consideration.

Appears Vudu deletes negative posts regarding their inability to provide UHD clients when compared to Netflix and Amazon..awww!

Will the Luna TG-L800S phone be compatible with Vudu because every time I download movies or TV shows they will download but when I close and open the app my downloaded movies have to redownload.

Connect your account through moviesanywhere.com and watch the available 4K movies through Google.

I use the ROKU Ultra Fozmonster. When I have my Sony Bravia XBR75X940D 4k TV, Samsung Atmos capable Soundbar hooked up to the ROKU Ultra....it does in fact utilize the UHD version only on VUDU for Atmos sound. If the UHD movie is mixed in Atmos. The new UHD Halloween (2018) does not have Atmos (even on the UHD Blu-ray). It was DTS:X, which VUDU doesn't support yet either. So for those movies, we have to setle for Dolby Digital Plus. Hope that helps a bit.

My X700 which was created after your x800 does not support DD+/Atoms from the Netflix app.
