HDCP 2.2 Error Only When Viewing a Trailer in Roku 4

I upgraded to 3 Roku 3's to Roku 4's. All are setup on 1080p systems, no 4K.

When I try to watch a Trailer I now get a pop-up "HDCP 2.2 Disabled - Trailer will Play in 1080p" But when I click Ok the trailer stops. I can watch my HDX Movies just fine... this error only shows when I try to play a Trailer.

    What next? TIA...

This bug will be fixed in an app update going out in a few hours.

Will this app update also fix the issues with DD+ on Roku 4 not working with DD+ sound systems ?

Since there is really no difference in the VUDU app or stream between Roku 3 and 4, it's likely that it's a Roku 4 firmware issue - I forwarded it to Roku to investigate. (question: is this over HDMI, S/PDIF, or both?)

It's definitely not a general issue with DD+ output, since it works with all receivers and TVs we tested.

I've only tested over HDMI. Another Vudu user tested over HDMI and S/PDIF and both of use can only get stereo to provide stereo in Vudu.

              Speaking of which....

Is vudu/roku aware that 4k 10 bit isn't selectable on the roku? The roku will glitch out into a black screen and then say you didn't select it. So it's defaulting to 8 bit and imo this is noticeably hurting the picture.

Is vudu uhd 10 bit streams? I'm finding that my blu ray copies have better colors but if we can get roku to do 10 bit in guessing it'll help correct this.

Yes, VUDU UHD is 10 bit (12 bit on devices that support DolbyVision).

Hard to say based on what you describe if it's a Roku or TV issue. Are you sure your TV accepts 4k 10 bit input? It's surprising how many don't (and it can be hard to get a straight answer from the manufacturer).

Have you tried to manually set the audio mode? If not, go into settings on the Roku and under "Audio" and "HDMI and S/PDIF" manually select Dolby D+/DTS-

That's what I originally had to do.

Yes, spent hours trying all the different combinations of audio settings between the Roku and the Receiver. Both are capable of DD+.

According to Roku this morning it's a bug with the Roku 4 that's causing the issue. HDCP 2.2 doesn't have anything to do with DD+ not working according to Roku.
