James Bond DVDs have HD codes, but instawatch in SD.

I bought The Sean Connery Collection volumes 1 and 2 today. I bought the DVD, not the blu-ray. Despire buying the DVD version, it said on the cover 'DVD & Digital HD'. I was excited to see that they were giving HD codes with the SD DVDs instead of SD codes. I scanned my receipt and the titles were instawatched into my collection, but they Instawatched as SD.

When I opened the DVDs and took the codes out, sure enough they were HD codes and I redeemed them and now have both volumes in HD.

That said, if the disc comes with HD codes, shouldn't it Instawatch as HD, too?

Same thing happened here. VUDU support wouldn't change it for me.

My understanding is that DVD often comes with SD and Blu-Ray often comes with HD. My experience eith UV, Digital HD, and InstaWatch (mostly) agrees wit
          h this as well.

As for "Digital HD" I've always took this to be a name for a standard and not an indicater of High Definition. I've never seen "Digital SD" for example..

Some fox DVDs come with Digital HD codes. The James Bond movie sets do. I don't think it's a mistake in instawatch. I think it's just a case of Fox issuing HD codes and Walmart treating the DVDs as SD. Maybe people will get a sympathetic Vudu rep to help them out, but I think it might be difficult since it did what instawatch does and gave SD for a DVD set.

It could also be that some studios are not even producing the SD version of the digital version? I've noticed recently that AIV is selling only the HD version of the digital copy on some movies so that may be the case here? Just a guess on my part.

I wouldn't hold my breath for a fix when the workaround is on a piece of paper inside the box you own.
