What should I do with my unused Ultraviolet codes?

    What should I do with my unused Ultraviolet codes?

    I was very ironically late to the game on this by only ONE DAY. Here it is August first, and I'm trying to redeem an Ultraviolet code only to find out that it's gone. I read online that VUDU was going to allow redemption of unused Ultraviolet codes, but it's not working. Does anyone know if this is going to be the case? Should I hold on to these codes? Toss them? Help?

    Don't toss them yet. UV's closing has no effect on whether the codes are still redeemable or not, only that they will not receive UV rights when redeemed. You didn't mention what movie(s) you were trying to redeem but it's possible that the studio has expired the code, gone bankrupt, or Vudu's redemption process is broken for the title you attempted. I would visit the Movies Anywhere site while signed out to check if the code(s) are still valid. There are better experts around that might chime in on the topic though.

      You can also sign out of Vudu to test whether the codes are still valid. If you are asked to log in then the code is valid, but don't log in unless you want to redeem the code.

        Those codes should still redeem on vudu to own only on Vudu.

          Everything I write in this post is for the situation where a code does not redeem at VUDU.

          Search for the title on VUDU and it will be marked if that title is MA or not.

          ​​​​If the title is MA and the code does not work on VUDU, you can attempt to redeem via MA or another MA provider. In that case the title will flow into VUDU via MA. If you find that the code still doesn't work, then you can reach out to the studios for potential replacement code.

          If the title is not listed as MA and the code does not work on VUDU, then you have a couple choices because that code will be locked at the provider to which you redeem the code. You can attempt to redeem the code on one of the other MA providers which will limit the title to that provider. If the code still doesn't work or you want the title in VUDU, you can reach out to the studio who distributes the movie and request a replacement code.

          Keep in mind if reaching out to the Studio for either of these scenarios, it will be best to have every title you need from a studio in your request as they often only provide a one time courtesy. In addition, you likely will have to provide pictures of your discs, disc cases, and inserts.
