    4K HDR quality

Hello, I now own a HiSense 65 inch 4K HDR Roku TV. I have purchased some movies on Vudu in 4K HDR. When I stream them, they look like they are in 1080p at best, with slightly better color. I popped in the blu ray disc (not 4k) of the same movie and the blu ray blows it out of the water in terms of resolution and sharpness. The HDR icon comes on when I stream them so I know nothing else is wrong. I also notice some movies look better than others. This is not a complaint as I am a fan of the VUDU service. Just wondering if others experienced the same quality. thank you

For most people the basic perception of 4k streaming would be that it is at Physical Bluray or just slightly better than Bluray resolution and with better color due to HDR grading.

I don't know all the particulars of you guy's IP service or whether you have things wired or wifi'd & whatnot, but I'm gonna have to disagree.
Vudu UHD with HDR is a better image than a standard 1080p Bluray...in resolution, sharpness, & color rendition.
Add in DolbyVision & it is head & shoulders above BR. The blacks are deeper, the colors are more brilliant with much better gradation, and the whites can almost blind you.
Could be web speed, panel calibration or maybe it just looks better on my TV.

It depends on the gear too. Some TVs that do HDR don?t actually have the brightness ability to make HDR beneficial and in some cases can make the picture worse looking than playing in SDR.

I have an LG OLED where HDR looks fantastic and on my 4k TCL (it?s the lowest end model) the picture looks much better with HDR disabled. HDR on that TV actually makes things look washed out.

Streaming 4K movies on an LG OLED and an Apple TV device look AMAZING!

I am streaming the movies via Wifi. I have AT&T high speed internet and gaming works fine. Maybe im not looking for the right thing. After looking at some more movies last night, it appears the 4K HDR makes the movies look more natural, film like. whereas the blu rays almost have an artificial look. The sharpness is better on the blu ray, but the colors and overall image on 4K HDR looks more real. Maybe i just need to get used to it

^^^ This is key. Make sure you adjust your settings WHILE you are viewing in HDR10, DV etc. I noticed panel brightness was very low on DV & HDR with factory settings.
