    VUDU movie download question...

A while back I joined VUDU and in the process got 5 free movies which I think I "own". Regardless of "own", I watched one of them on my iPad last night after it said it was downloaded. I don't want this movie taking up space on my iPad and wonder if it is and if so, how do I delete it?

Later, I wanted to watch another movie, but there were no prices displayed when using the VUDU iPad app. Is the app only to watch movies that I own? I then signed on through Safari and there the prices were displayed. Is that the only way I can rent a VUDU film?

Vudu has a watch only app on ios to avoid paying Apple tax, Amazon has an ios app like that also. Best way to get the full apps are with a Roku.

You can delete the downloaded movie from your iPad so it doesn't take up space. Go to your downloaded movies and there should be a button under the movie to delete it.

The iPad is watch only. To purchase or rent a movie, you can open the safari browser and go to the Vudu website to conduct the transactions that you want. Then you can use the app to download or watch the movie.

Wasn't aware of that as this is the first time I used VUDU with my iPad. I have used the Amazon app, but only watch "Prime" content that I don't have to pay for.

I assume this is the reason I also can't get either VUDU or Amazon access with my Apple TV. Either one would cut the Apple revenue from iTunes.

Can you explain exactly where a VUDU downloaded movie goes on my iPad. I don't see it when I click on "Video".

Open the Vudu app on your iPad. Select the "hamburger" icon on the left and scroll down the menu items. Select downloads and your downloaded movies will show up here.

Not sure what you mean by "hamburger", but I did find the place to delete movies that I watched. A couple of days ago I watched a movie that I don't remember deleting, but it was GONE from the VUDU download folder. Maybe they automatically evaporate after so many hours on my iPad. To test this, I just downloaded another movie that I haven't watched yet and it does show in the download folder with a delete option.

No they should not automatically delete.

                  Unless they're rentals.
