Search is HORRIBLE for Movie Owners

Caveat - correct me if I'm missing something.

(start rant)

As time goes on and my collection expands I'm hating search, more and more.

Search only includes movies that can be rented or purchase. While I understand this is great for people that are looking to rent or own movie...

It really sucks for people that own movies as movies constantly go on and off rent / purchase. If you OWN the movie and it's off digital license it doesn't appear in the search results.

The larger your collection is the longer it takes to find that movie as you might have to click through hundreds or thousands of movies to get to what you want.

There either needs a search that also includes movies that are in your collection but off of digital license, OR a separate search for your movies.

It's frustrating now only for having to click through your whole collection if you KNOW what you want to see, it's also frustrating when you're searching through say actors and movies that are off digital license but are owned and view-able in your my collection collection don't come in in the actor search.


It's like searching is geared SOLELY for finding stuff to rent or buy... what about all of us that own things already and want to search for them or see similar recommendations that included our owned movies.

FYI I have 1195 items listed in My Movies and many of those are collections so the actual movie count is MUCH higher if they were un-bundled.

I agree. We have been asking for better ways to search and find movies in our library.

First, they need to fix the search so that if we are searching for a movie not currently available to rent or purchase on Vudu it should still list it if we already own it.

Second, we need a way to jump to a specific letter when our list is sorted in alphabetical order. Instead of scrolling from "A" down to "S", we need a way to jump straight to "S" and begin scrolling from that position of our list.

Finally, the ability to arrange our collections under a new tab called "my collection" would be great. Allow us to create bundles with movies and/or television series sequenced within each bundle how we want them and the ability to name the bundle (i.e. James Bond Movies or Favorite Sci Fi Movies).
