    Vudu number of movies discrepancy

On the main Vudu page it says that I have 1294 movies. It says "1 - 18 of 1294".

With some people reporting that movies were missing from their account, I decided that it was high time I took inventory of everything on my Vudu account. I created an excel spreadsheet and listed them all. On the main Vudu page I did a sort as 'A through Z' of 'Any Genre' and one by one entered each title into the spreadsheet. From 101 Dalmatians straight through to Zoolander. I do own a few bundles like the Rocky bundle and the Saw bundle and the Tremors Attack Pack containing the first four Tremors movies. I entered the bundles in as a single title (example: 'Rocky Bundle and Save' was listed as one item rather than six).

When I was finished, according to the Excel spreadsheet, I owned 1288 items. Yet Vudu's main page says 1294. Now if we take the three bundles and break them down into individual films instead of listing them as one, that would bring the number to 1302.

Any way I slice it, there is a discrepancy.

If you created the list by simply scrolling down your My Movies page sorted from A to Z you shouldn't be seeing any discrepancy at all.

It sounds like maybe you missed a row of 6 when you were making your list since your count is off by 1 row.

The nice thing about the vudu A to Z sort is that as you scroll down, the movie count updates, so if you scroll down 3 rows you should see "19 to 36 of 1294" -- the top left movie on the page should match the #19 in your spreadsheet.

To find the discrepancy relatively quickly I would scroll down about 100 movies at a time and compare to your spreadsheet... so scroll down until you see "103 to 120" and compare the top left movie to #103 on your spreadsheet. Once you get a match, scroll down to "205 to 222" and check #205 against your list... then keep going another 100 at a time.

If you find a mismatch, scroll back up to your last match against your spreadsheet and move ahead a little more slowly til you find the movies you missed.

    Good luck.

This sounded logical, but it wasn't the case upon checking. One mistake was easy to find. Two movies were showing on the same line (I guess I forgot to hit enter?) SO now my list is short 5 instead of 6.

      The mystery continues.

Well it was just one possibility.

How did it go when you compared the numbers as you scrolled down your My Movies page against your spreadsheet like I suggested?

Since you made the list directly from the A-Z list, you would definitely find the discrepancy that way since the vudu count simply displays the number of items listed on the page.

That number is just the number of items in that particular list. If the list has a bundle that's just 1 item in that list, it doesn't count items inside bundles, TV seasons, etc.
