Vudu is much better than iTunes in terms of searching, sorting, evaluating, and just overall movie management. Plus, they give us this GREAT forum, which is invaluable to me! But, yes, iTunes is usually best for purchasing and watching (to me, watching my movies using the AppleTV app on the ATV 4K device is by far the best in quality). I love using the best features of Vudu and iTunes combined, so I for one would hate it if Vudu died! But, sorry, I'm digressing from the topic of this thread.

Despite those initial reports, it seems Vudu is making an effort with new features and new marketing push. I think it's good for all customers if Vudu and ITunes can share the same space. Free upgrades is encouraging, but to do it without the support of all the major studios, and with more restrictions than Itunes was a clumsy way to do it.

I thought free upgrades was a good idea from a business standpoint because switching to one stream meant the studios could charge more for new releases. It also encourages adoption of new technology.

Scratch that, I had 4 of 126 warner brother's titles upgrade: Inception, Sully, The Nice Guys and the Wizard of Oz. Two of these I already owned in UHD, so...Also, out of curiosity, is it WB's intent to upgrade some of their titles that are not available in UHD to BE available in UHD?

An interesting thing I do know now: D2D titles do not show up in your purchase history. That's interesting...and enlightening from the standpoint of upgrades. I know, what a noob I am.

I find it hard to believe that none of my 126 warner brother's titles were upgraded. Maybe they haven't gotten to me, yet. I wish I knew which titles I purchased through the D2D offer. Also, I know this is moot but I've only purchased on VUDU and I would have hoped that D2D, which is done through VUDU, would have counted as VUDU purchases. Guess if you didn't buy it at full price/or sale price it doesn't count. That's a shame, and kind of crappy. Yes, let's all complain about getting something for nothing.

I think that vudu needs a better way to roll and communicate these new features to the customer. Why cant you guys brainstorm all of the question that you will get from customer and then put everything in bulletin. This crap is confusing as hell.

Does a Warner title get upgraded to UHD if I purchase today?

Yeah I don?t expect they will, but I don?t think it?s much of a coincidence that they were recently pushing UHD versions of a lot of WB movies.

Why should they? You made the choice to make these purchases. This is the risk you make every time you purchase something with any retailer.

What are some examples of titles that were upgraded? Do you still have option to purchase after upgrade?
