What is going on with Instawatch movies dissapearing

    I know that’s how many due. But to log each individual one is just too much time, with everything else you have to do for life, just seems like too much work. Let alone tracing back which ones are missing is even more work.

    A few movies missing here or there is just too much time and effort, at least with everything else I personally have to do. I’m better off spending that time with my investments.

    The only thing that I do is when these changes are announced and until they are completed and **** down I take a high level snapshot of total movies.

    For example when UltraViolet when went. I had no real issues with Vudu or all my other UV providers, except one. The snapshot the day before UV went down and the day after my Kaleidescape Strato decreased by 108 movies. I provided this information to Kaleidescape and they were able to repopulate all but one, which was a demo title and not an actual movie. It took them two attempts as he first attempt only for back 80%.

        This was a violation of our constitutional rights!

        I have the right to be secure in my possessions. Vudu and Fandango have no right to take owned digital movie copies from my library which I paid money for without any warning or warrant.

        Today, Vudu and Fandango stole over 41 movies from my library without any communication. Vudu and Fandango sent an email this afternoon promising my library was not going to be affected by their merge, but I lost over 41 titles.

        Had I bought dvd's or blu ray discs from a Good Will store, from Craigslist, or from FaceBook Market place, they'd have no right to enter my home and take them from my living room. Neither do they have any right to remove content from my library without a warrant. I paid money for my movies.

        I have literally spent hundreds of dollars this year alone in purchases made directly from Vudu with my credit card information they hold on file, including theater releases. If they do not provide restitution they will lose one of their biggest customers. I will revoke permission for them to hold my credit card, and I will never buy another movie on Vudu again. This is wrong!

        I feel violated and victimized by Vudu and Fandango's actions today. They have no legal right to steal content from me or from any of us. All of my movies have been paid for. This is not right.

          I’ve got Close to 3,000 titles in my Vudu account and typically, well prior to the pandemic when new major titles were still being released, I add at least one title week if not several a week. Some added my purchase, some digital code redemption, some Instawatch, etc. if I was going to be able to track every movie in my account it would require more effort than my taxes, which are WAY more complicated than 99% of the population.

          Some of us just have good memories. I know what movies are on my bookshelf, and I know what movies are in my vudu collection. Like lyrics to a song you just don't forget. Today, I was disappointed because while I have a large collection, it's not as large as yours. Losing 41 movie titles is something I can see and feel. I'm on vudu almost daily. I don't pay for cable, netflix or disney. I'd rather spend money on content I own and don't have to pay monthly fees for. I'm very upset by what Vudu and Fandango did today.

            I keep an excel sheet as well. I also noticed a few titles missing - I rarely buy instawatch - usually buy directly from Vudu so those seem to be safe - its the instawatch ones that seems to be missing - but not all of them.

              I had bad luck with Instawatch since the very beginning and I don't like to shop at Walmart so I didn't do Instawatch. I also never bought Instawatch from individuals or companies so I didn't lose any movies.

                If you want to get more upset read Vudu's terms and conditions. You can't sue them. Can't form a class action lawsuit either. Arbitration only. Single party arbitration. Probably easier to fight a case against the California Supreme Court that made this possible and stripped consumers of their only viable ways to go after companies ripping people off. It would have been far more fair to consumers to put a cap on Class Action lawsuit awards than to strip them away entirely.

                  Watch me! I already have a class action attorney asking me for screenshots. Their terms and conditions do not supersede the U.S. Constitution. I have a right to be secure in my possessions.

                    Ha ha ha. I will presume this is a joke but just in case...

                    The U.S. Supreme Court - you know, the final word on what the Constitution is and isn't - already found binding arbitration acceptable which is why most anti-consumer companies updated their terms to include it.

                    All you need to do is show the receipts for your disc purchases to Vudu and I'm sure they'll correct your situation. And you can take them to small claims if they don't. There won't be any class action suit.

                      I feel this needs to be said before things get out of hand. After speaking with customer service, they say this was an error and vudu is already in the process of trying to restore titles. It will just take time to reverse the damage done.

                        Sure, lets see you spend 400.00 an hour for something this small in terms of dollar amount. These threats go nowhere.

                          If so, that needs to be stated to all, not to one on a phone call, sadly, because they could be just telling you that to get you off the phone faster, and not deal with one complaining... FelipeF? Everyone one that is at Vudu seems to have gone silent?

                            I have sent muliple messages to Vudu on this issue, and have gotten no response. Wasteland is correct, Vudu needs to communicate with us. I have always found support to be friendly/responsive. If this non-responsive approach is going to be the new standard under Fandango, I will limit my dealings with Vudu.

                              I would love to have this in writing from them. When I spoke to them they didn't say anything about an error or correcting it. I hope you're right, because it's very upsetting.

                                It's not a threat. Do you work for vudu? Why so threatened? Take a look at all of the people complaining on all of vudu's social media. I'm not the only one, and these figures add up fast. They're doing this to a lot of people, and it's wrong. They have no legal authority to take property from anyone. Their terms may give them the right to obtain a court order, but they do not have the right to skip due process, strong arm their customers, and take it forcefully without presenting a court order or warrant to do so. No one has the right to just take another person's possessions simply because they don't like how it was obtained. Not even a police officer has the legal right to take something from a suspects home without a warrant. There is a legal process vudu should have followed, but they did not.
