Their terms may give them the right to obtain a court order, but they do not have the right to skip due process, strong arm their customers, and take it forcefully without presenting a court order or warrant to do so. No one has the right to just take another person's possessions simply because they don't like how it was obtained. Not even a police officer has the legal right to take something from a suspects home without a warrant. There is a legal process vudu should have followed, but they did not. Digital content rights are no exception, and Vudu is not above the law or our right to be secure in our possessions. They did not do the right thing here at all.

            What you paid for are licenses, not property. You have no, none, zero property rights here. Let me quote Vudu's Terms of Service: "When you purchase Content, you will be granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable limited license to [...] view the Content as often as you like subject to [...] applicable restrictions"

            There is no "legal process" they had to follow. That's more nonsense.

            If you have receipts for your InstaWatch, take them to Vudu/Fandango and they will likely straighten it out. You haven't even given them an opportunity to address your situation. You're just another blowhard armchair lawyer, as if the world doesn't have enough of those.

              lol, you are mistaken. There is a legal process that must be followed to revoke licensing rights they way they did, and if this isn't made right soon, they'll be held accountable. I've already placed 2 calls to vudu asking them to address the situation, so you're mistaken there too. Thank you for sharing your uneducated opinions though. Terms of Service don't supercede the law or our Constitution. They'll be taken to school soon enough.

                Tech companies are not above the law. It's considered forcefully when they do not follow due process to revoke a license that their customers paid money for. You don't have to hold a gun to someone's head to prove force or fear in a Robbery either.                     Well this has spiraled out of control quickly. Let me get back to my initial post.

                    The issue is VUDU took the movies without informing us, not that they took them. I'd almost not care if VUDU has the customer service skills to send an email that they were removed and a short explanation of why. But instead they decided to just randomly remove movies and pretend nothing happened. Even worse their current silence is sort of insulting. (I would hate to be their phone support right now). Someone at a high level either made this decision or screwed up badly and the lowbies on the phone are getting the brunt of it. Bad PR for your customers and bad morale for your employees.

                    Now with that said as for the legal stuff I have no clue how that works so I'm not going to get into that, but I have to assume VUDU pays the studio's every time a movie is purchased a percentage. So as it stands now the movie studio is just as guilty as VUDU as they have taken a percentage of the movie sale too.

                        Howie411 makes a good point. I am angry that the movies were taken, but I am almost more angry that I'm being willfullly ignored, after contacting support multiple times. It's rude, insulting and disrespectful. I shouldn't need to hunt for answers on these forums. My movies were removed, I respectfully requested an explanation, I've gotten nothing from them. I do not believe I did anything wrong, but if for whatever reason they feel they were justified in doing what they did, I don't know why they steadfastly refuse ro provide that justifacation. Zero comunication. They could say: "we're sorry this was a mistake we'll correct it" They could say, "We feel for x, y, z, reasons we removed these movies" Instead silence. That is horrible customer service. Beyond horrible.

                            Do not buy digital movies from Movie Sometimes. All the movies that I bought from them are gone from my VUDU account. I called VUDU and told them about my missing movies. They told me that codes didn't match the emails that were given. So Movie Sometimes sold me STOLEN codes. Today is my fourth day contacting them with no reply. I ameam LIVID! I them know that, I just want my movies back. I am going to my bank tomorrow. Movie Sometimes advertised on Facebook, about buying cheap digital movies from them. Owner of Movie Sometimes is Bara Mahesa Sejahtera.
