Hold on - some of you bought a digital code from a website called MOVIE SOMETIMES who is owned by, thanks to my Google Law Degree looking it up, someone/something in Indonesia(Vudu is only in the U.S) - and some of you are SURPRISED you were scammed? What do you people think you're entitled to?

This is such a slap in the face by Vudu. Just talked to customer service. Can confirm this was not an accident or an error...nothing is being "fixed". If your household uses multiple Walmart's accounts, like you and your wife. But share a Vudu account, we've all apparently broken terms and conditions and thus are cheating crooks.

All movies redeemed via the Instant-watch method which had any discrepancies have been permanently deleted and without paper receipts there are no paths forward for restoration.

Never another cent from me Vudu...

I am not sure what Vudu/Fandango thinks they are achieving, other than driving customers away. The smart thing to would be to restore all content. As I understand it, this is a Walmart.com issue, which means Fandango didn't make a penny off of these copies but they will lose the money from angering customers. It's up to them, how they choose to conduct their business, but this course of action seems nonsensical and counterproductive.

I am new to this forum but this issue has compelled me to join. I like the rest of you am upset that Vudu is allowed to remove my movies with no notice. It makes me feel like I am not in control of my property. Their customer service told me to take pictures of the front and back of the disc and pics of the receipts of all the missing movies. I thought that was a slap in the face as they think I am going to comb through 1200 titles while 1 by 1 cross reference my purchase or redemption history to find each movie missing!? At the very least they could have provided a list of titles that were being removed and an explanation as to why.

I cannot find anything anywhere that says it is illegal to sell or purchase digital movie codes. I have seen rental stores in the US sell them from a booklet in their store. Also if this was not allowed how in the world did anyone get the movie in their library? If Vudu can ID mismatched emails and remove movies they certainly can put up a function that would block these transactions. Which I see that they have done now as I tested an old link I had. Sharing Netflix passwords is more “illegal” than what is going on here. Regardless I have noticed 8 movies removed so far and I still have 1200 in my library all bought from Vudu as they previously were my favorite digital locker. I buy a couple movies a week from them. But this has broken my trust and I will not be purchasing movies from their site any longer. This just seems like an odd battle for them to fight. They may have removed $100 worth of movies but they are going to lose close to $1000 in business from me per year. Which I know I am just one person who won’t make that big of a splash on their bottom line but if there are several cases like this that put a bad taste in customers mouths it’s not like Vudu is the top tier digital locker. They are just driving business to their competitors. Not to mention they took away family play which was a cool feature for kids and they are still not available on Amazon devices. That’s 3 strikes for this customer. Thanks for the 9 years of digital enjoyment Vudu. Hope this all works out for you.

Vudu took 133 movies out of my account and the company that I got the movie codes closed shop....

Guessing it was Movies Sometimes? Goes to show they were selling illegitimate codes which Vudu had the right to remove.

I feel for you, if you paid with PayPal or your credit card you can try filing a claim, but it is also a risk of buying from a discounted/illegitimate site

It was well known that it was against the TOS for InstaWatch titles to be redeemed by any account other than the one that bought the Blu-ray/DVD. This is why I never bought any InstaWatch codes from 3rd party sellers, even though they were only a few bucks per movie. People have only themselves to blame if they broke the rules on this. Just be glad your entire account wasn't banned, and move on.
