    The Raven Instawatch

I recently went to Wal-Mart. I purchased The Raven out of the 7.88 bin. It was clearly labeled Instawatch Eligible. I did not receive the IW. I opened a ticket with vudu, provided photos only to be told it's not eligible? Then why does it have the sticker on it? This is ridiculous

I had the same problem. I have a ticket open with them right now. I haven't been told that it's not eligible yet. I attached all photos they ask for then get a standard reply email about how I need to include photos. I replied back with look at the first email, photos attached.

I've learned it's much easier to call customer service. They will fix it within a few minutes, instead of waiting days - weeks for a fix via email.

I'm looking into this UPC eligibility with the content team. I'll let you know what we find.

While you are at it you might as well check Superman II, Superman III, Superman IV, and True Crime. All four of these June additions to the Walmart blu-ray $7.88 bin have also failed to yield Instawatch. All of them advertised Instawatch with a sticker on the front, just like The Raven did. I purchased all five.

I'd file a support request, but the last 2-3 times I've done so it took MONTHS for anything to get resolved, despite multiple e-mail reminders to VUDU customer support. Something has changed within the VUDU customer service department within the past 6-9 months, as prior to this time issues would be corrected like clockwork in a matter of hours / days. Now it is taking an unreasonably long time. It can't be due solely to a sudden influx of support requests, so I'm not sure what is causing these lengthy hold-ups.

I didn't even file support requests for Superman II-IV, True Crime, or The Raven because I figure I will get faster results waiting for these films to eventually be activated within the IW system and then rescanning my receipt at that time. The wait time through VUDU has become almost unbearable / insulting. When Walmart advertises IW digital copies on the shrink wrap, those movies should work via IW immediately, because of careful preparation on the part of VUDU / Walmart in advance of the date that those movies are due to be in the $7.88 bin. Instead, lazy preparation and inconsideration are given to customers who expect to get what is advertised at the time of purchase. There is really no good excuse that VUDU / Walmart can give that would justify this repeatedly happening with each new $7.88 bin reset. It's been happening for quite some time now, but it's happening with a larger number of titles each time.

Can you please check on these titles also.

These 7 titles did not give IW, but had stickers saying it came with IW:
            City Heat
            2001: A Space Odyssey
            Watchmen Director's Cut
            Troy
            True Crime
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves extended version
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Johnny Depp version)

              Re: The Raven Instawatch

Based upon data reports that I looked over last night, I see that The Raven, Troy, and True Crime are all supposed to work via InstaWatch very soon, as well as the Superman 5-film Collection (Bundle). I believe the latter is supposed to go on sale very soon (tomorrow if I'm not mistaken).

That said, has any InstaWatch progress been made with the individual Superman releases that have recently hit the $7.88 bin at Walmart? Superman I-IV all advertise InstaWatch with a sticker on the shrink wrap, but I can personally confirm that Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut, as well as Superman III and IV are still not working. If a VUDU CSR can shed some light on this I will be very grateful.

I usually by my instawatch movies online at Walmart but I did see the Raven movie at my local Walmart in the bluray bin with the instawatch sticker. But if you go to Walmart online the movie does not say instawatch. Strange

                  Re: The Raven Instawatch

It's not surprising. Walmart has been doing this a lot lately. They have been putting the instawatch stickers on every blu-ray they throw into the bin or else putting it on discs that are scheduled to be instawatch at some point. I myself just bought the Statham triple pack which had the sticker but isn't instawatch. Remember, as you can see in the D2D threads most Walmart employees have no idea that Walmart is even associated with Vudu or that you can watch your movies online. So it's not surprising that things get labeled incorrectly.

So you can do two things. Either look up the product on the instawatch eligible page (which is convoluted at best) or hope that it eventually does become instawatch. Keep your receipts because if the movie does at a later date become instawatch eligible then rescanning the receipt will add the movie to your account.
