    UHD movies

I started re-buying movies in UHD when I realized Vudu will never give a discount. Problem is, when I started, there were 150 movies I needed to upgrade. Since then that number has become over 500 that I have had to re-purchase. My question is, do you think every movie will eventually become available in UHD? I assumed some of the bigger titles would. But now I’m worried I’m going to have to eventually upgrade every movie I own, which is about 3,000. Dont tell me to just stop rebuying either, because I have OCD lolol

Take advantage of sales when available for those titles you want to upgrade. $7.99 is the max I would pay for any previously owned digital copy going from HDX to UHD and that depends on the title as well. No one should have to pay full price a second time on the same title which is why a discount needs to be implemented. As for every title going UHD only time will tell...some studios are re-releasing catalog titles in UHD so that's a plus. I just wish Vudu would add UHD versions of certain titles they don't have but other retailers do, that one I don't understand what the hold up is. If your listening Vudu...step up and take my up to $7.99 per title already!!!

Connect your VUDU account to Movies Anywhere, and also connect to iTunes and other services that each frequently have great sales on MA titles that are often available in UHD. Don’t limit yourself to just one service.

Out of all connected MA retailers, Vudu and Apple Tv/iTunes are the only ones I know of that offer upgrades on (previously owned) digital copies...and in iTunes case you have to gift it to yourself. So yeah...your pretty limited, correct if I'm wrong. As with the OP, I have quite a few I'd like to upgrade when they become available to whomever will take my money.

Like mentioned I wait for sales on UHD to upgrade mine. I am also getting pickier in the upgrades to films that I know I will watch over and over.

            Seriously it's coming.

I think I will be even pickier then on which I upgrade! Right now I don't have a 4K TV, but I know when mine dies I will get one, that is why I have been upgrading my HDX to UHD when I can/when there is a sale.

I am just glad that Vudu allows the upgrade option - even if it isn't discounted.

I would love to see a discounted price for upgrades, but my guess is that has to come from the studios not Vudu. And the studio has been profiting from replacements vs upgrades for a long time: VHS - DVD - Blu-Ray - 4K....no reason for them to cut their profits in the digital upgrades when they know fans will ultimately buy them at reg price!

I'd been getting UHD since they first came out since I knew this was coming. Back when it started there was only 100 titles and I had no problem basically getting everything. Now there's a lot of junk in 4K as well.

Either way I just swapped the living room set out for 4K finally as the plasma finally started to die. One tough call was that LG has 4K OLED and 8K LED for basically the same price and I labored on what to do for a while. In the end 8K is too early, and the underlying hardware is an older generation compared to the OLED sets.
