    I have to admit...

...so far, I am not hating the changes Fandango has been making to Vudu. Their movie offerings, as well as their specials, seem more robust. I think Walmart tried to hard to marry a digital service to their brick-and-mortar floor marketing. I knew this wouldn't work for Fandango unless they were aggressive in their marketing. They seem to have kept the aspects of Vudu that a lot of us liked (like early release).

A few tips. Incorporate movie "upgrades" at a lower price. For example, if I own Captain America in HDX, allow me to update to UHD at a reduced price than the UHD price. Also, we miss disk-to-digital. I'm not saying that you should implement it again, but put something neat and enticing in its place.

In summary, don't let this service stagnate. Be innovative.

And the sooner you incorporate a gift card payment option, the better.

    Cheerio, peeps!

Sorry, but until they bring back family play, which was the reason I made many purchases from VUDU, I will not buying anything from them. We were told nothing would change and they lied. I have no trust in VUDU and future purchases.

So here's the confusing part. WM is launching they own Prime like delivery service for products and groceries to your home.

HOWEVER, they plan to add a streaming movie service like Amazon has with Prime Video (MoviesAnywhere provider).

WAIT! WHAT? they just sold Vudu and now they're going to add something???

"Of course, for Walmart+ to become a veritable Prime rival, it also has to have video streaming. The company reportedly plans to add that component, as well, though details are still hazy at this point."

Family play was horrible. It muted not only swear words, but insults and other mild words like, stupid, idiot, dummy, poopyhead, and many others. It really took the meaning out of a lot of dialog. Even PG movies that are quite mild became unwatchable. It was a terrible system, with no customization. Vidangel would have been much better.

I hope they come up with something that actually works.

Have to admit that I'm remaining cautiously optimistic.

Family Play was never a draw for me. Part of growing up is getting to see more and more in the art around us. As my kids get older, they get to see what they're ready to see. Sanitizing it gives them a skewed view of the world; sanitizing it badly gives them a completely misrepresentation of the world.

I disagree, but respect your position. On a business level, you would think Comcast in purchasing VUDU would want to provide services and content that would attract the widest amount of customers to rent or purchase movies and let them make their own choice on how they view movies, (for example Netlfix now lets you watch movies speeded up.) Especially since people purchased exclusively from VUDU for the purpose of having family play. It was something unique that other streaming services didn't have. I say the more options and choices the better. But I guess VUDU no longer cares about how many customers they can get. Hopefully WM will offer more with this with their new streaming service.
