I don't think WB owns Vudu. FNow is Universal. MA just needs to get rid of one of their entries, and use the same ID they have to link one, or both to the Vudu ID.

I believe WB is a partial owner of Fandango who now owns Vudu:

      NBCUniversal (70%) WarnerMedia (30%)

      783 HDX
      5 SD

Odd, I wonder why a lot of WB shows were added to Vudu and not FNow when it was alive?

Bumping this as I just had this happen today when I redeemed through MA. I noticed I have 2 versions on MA, the version my HD copy is attached to on Vudu and my new UHD version. FelipeF is it possible that the new version isn't linked to Vudu properly (or not at all) and it's just reading the old version?

There is no new version on Vudu. Vudu added UHD to the original version. MA added a new listing along with their old listing, which is making this very confusing. If anything, MA needs to remove one of their listings and have all incoming and outgoing port from that one title. Many have emailed MA, but they tend to see no reason to fix it.

This is a Warner issue, and they are constantly creating "new" UHD versions that are causing headaches not just on MA, but on Vudu and iTunes when codes get redeemed.

Other titles affected include "The Outsiders" and "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome."

In the case of this movie, they should have created a new version for Vudu. This release was more than just a rez upgrade / HDR pass, it is a full new scan with a return to the original theatrical framing on some shots that were changed for the original BD release.

But if it were just a Warner issue, it Vudu would have added a new version. I'm sure they send out mass emails when they release new versions or updates? I doubt they would tell MA, iTunes to add a new one, and say Vudu can P-off... IDK...

So there is a way you can tell which version you are watching. The old version is 1.78, the new version is 1.85. When I play the HD version on Vudu, it is the new 1.85. Somewhere wires are crossed. Vudu needs entries for both versions to match what MA has and this would probably clear up the problem.

Add me to the number of people with this issue. and here is the official word from MA.

Vudu does not carry that edition in their platform as of yet. VUDU currently only carries the 1971 theatrical version. As the 4K version you have just redeemed is not available in VUDU, the 4K title you have just redeemed will not be able to port into VUDU.
How can VUDU get the appropriate version to align to the new 50th Anniversary 4K version? I reached out to WB and still have not heard back yet.

With VUDU having a 4K option on the older version, it seems like that should be the 4K for the newer 50th Anniversary version w/o a UHD option for the existing version.

See my post above (#15). WB is ignoring the issue and you'll likely never hear from them.

It's frustrating these simple fixes can't be fixed.

btw. I never received any response from VUDU support beyond the templated "we will respond in 72 hours" which we are about past that time as of this writing. Ticket #20220101-4JO12P.

And as expected nothing from Warner Bros which seems to no longer allow us to see past correspondences nor sends email confirmation of submitted support requests.

Edit: just received the following correspondence from WB.
Vudu is aware of it and working on fix. However, we don't know when they'll have it fixed. But once it's fixed, it will show in your Vudu account automatically.
Now if we could receive VUDU's official response, please.

How has THIS issue not been fixed by now????

I keep waiting to be able to watch this on VUDU IN 4K, but nobody at VUDU seems willing to pick up the phone / converse via emails with MA / WB / whomever else to make what CERTAINLY isn't a difficult fix happen. Itunes addressed this a LONG time ago, and yet here we are.

I was hoping when Fandango took over VUDU these kinds of transfer issues would be fixed quickly and occur much less frequently, but that appears to have been a pipe dream.

Please find a way to get MA 4K rights ported into VUDU. This has gone on for far too long, and screams that no one at VUDU is making an active, passionate, and serious attempt to address the problem.
