Vudu Forum Guidelines

The Vudu Forums are designed to help viewers get the most out of their Vudu experience. Here, Vudu customers may post information, questions, ideas, etc. on the subject of Vudu and Vudu -related issues (home theater, entertainment, etc). Although the primary purpose of these forums is to help Vudu customers with questions and/or problems with their Vudu service, there are also off-topic areas available within the Vudu Forums for users to chat with like-minded people, subject to the limitations below.

Please post all comments in English. When posting a comment in the Vudu Forums, please conduct yourself in a respectful and civil manner. While we respect that you may feel strongly about an issue, please leave room for discussion.

Vudu reserves the right to refrain from posting and/or to remove user comments, including comments that contain any of the following:

1. Obscenities, defamatory language, discriminatory language, or other language not suitable for a public forum
2. Email addresses, phone numbers, links to websites, physical addresses or other forms of contact information

Fandangonow Account not merging at all

    Fandangonow Account not merging at all

    My Fandangonow account is not merging at all to Vudu. I tried three days ago and yesterday. I get the confirmation letter my account is being merged and I will be notified when complete but nothing happens and I never get a letter indication the account has merged. I have a large Vudu collection and most of my Fandangonow movies are Movies Anywhere. However, I also purchased Amazing Stories Seasons One and Two from Fandangonow, Eerie Indiana TV Series, and some Fringe TV seasons not already in my Vudu account, and a HD copy of Die Die my Darling (Vudu only has SD). None of these are showing in my Vudu account. I still have the purchase confirmations from Fandango now.

      I've called Vudu and chatted. All I get is it'll happen. It's been close to 5 days now.

        I have been trying from the start also and am getting nowhere. I sent in support ticket and have not heard anything from them.

          I finally got my FandangoNow account to merge but only by merging it with my secondary Vudu account.

            Same here. Did it on Tuesday, nothing happens except the on screen message that my merge was happening, so i called and waited about an hour. The rep said it was supposed to be done by midnight. So, Wednesday nothing had happened and no email had been received so I called again, waited again and the rep said the previous rep had gotten it wrong and said that it would take a day or two depending on the library size and walked me through doing it again which i did and got the onscreen message again. I said i would give it a couple of days since my library was about 3000 movies. still no email received. So….yesterday (Saturday) rolls around, no emails, no merging…so i called AGAIN and waiting AGAIN (because the chat option is totally useless) and now they’re escalating it to “corporate “ because they cannot see any reason why this is taking so long. The closest they could see is that I merged two Vudu accounts but that was 3-4 years ago. I also advised them I was holding off on buying anything else until this is sorted out so I don’t make it worse.

            Guess we’ll see. I was all for this merger until this happened. Now? Not so much.

              They're making it up when it they say it takes long if you have a large library. My library is around 1200 movies and it only took a couple of minutes to merge when I used my secondary Vudu account rather than the primary one.

                I have over 4,000 movies. It took 10 hours for the merge to complete. I would say it took awhile.

                  It's been a week since I got the email & followed instructions, & my accouts still haven't merged either.

                  The strange thing for me was when I clicked the "verify email" link in the FandangoNow email, it never asked me for me Vudu information to merge with, it just gave me the message "This may take a while, we'll email you when the merge is complete". When I hadn't heard anything for a couple days, I contacted their customer service on Twitter, & they thought it was strange it never asked me for my Vudu information to merge with (I did ask later if it was because my accounts were linked before the merge), but they didn't answer & told me to call them. When I did, they did say since my accounts were linked before the merge, it would automatically do it (don't know why I had to call to get that info?) & to just call them back in a couple days if it still hasn't worked.

                  I'm finding it strange the lack of communication with customers reguarding this issue, & also having a hard time finding anyone else having this same issue. I've tried Google, Twitter, Reddit, & now here just to see if my problem is rare or not, apparently it is.

                  I have most of the emails confirming my purchase for the movies I'm missing just in case, but not having any answers on when this will get resolved is frustrating to say the least. I'm thinking of contacting them again tomorrow to see if anything has changed, & to demand more clarity this time.

                    The same thing happened when I tried to merge last week where the Vudu and FandangoNow have the same email addresses. I thought it would be easier in that case but I was wrong. I ended up getting it to work when merging my secondary Vudu account with the FandangoNow account. It merged in a couple of minutes and I had a fairly large library. You may think of merging with a 2nd Vudu account if you have one?

                      I filed a ticket four days ago but heard nothing further. I decided to try again today and my account merged quickly. However both "Eerie Indiana" and "Amazing Stories" while merged appear to have no way to play them, although it shows that I purchased them. Both are described as "Plot summary not yet available."

                        I filed a ticket nine days ago and have heard nothing. I called for a status, and was told to be patient, it may take awhile, and that I should stop calling to ask for an update, as I will receive an e-mail when my issue has been resolved.

                          I cannot start the merge process. Everytime I get an email to verify that I'm the owner of the email address associated with FandangoNow, the "verify" link takes me to a page that tells me that the link is expired and that I need to request a new link. It's seems to be a never-ending loop as I've gotten 7 different verification emails that contain expired links.

                          I've also tried verifying my FandangoNow account with my password, but it tells me the password is incorrect. I use a password keeper, so I know that I'm using the right one.

                            this is pitiful. i called (my third call) last Saturday and was told it was being escalated to “corporate” and i would get response in 48 hours. Well, that never happened. and their chat function is useless.

                              Be careful here. I noticed a weird bug when you get to this step. If you are logged in to VUDU on your browser, and if the emails for FandangoNOW and VUDU are different, when you attempt to verify your FandangoNOW account with password, the system will somehow replace the email address on your VUDU account with the FandangoNOW email. It might be safer completing this process on a different browser where you are not logged in to your VUDU account already.
