Major Problems after Fandango / VUDU Merger (Examples)

    A) Movie Extras (Bonus Features) will no longer offer to let you rate them.
    B) Many Movie Extras (Bonus Materials) result in a 'Failed to get Play Back' Information message when trying to watch them.
    C) TV Show extras are listed like an episode in the Season list, but numbered differently. However, like the Movie Extras, many result in a 'Failed to get Play Back Information' message when trying to watch them.
    D) Individual Episodes of TV Shows no longer offer to let your Rate them.
    E) Many TV shows list an Episode that wasn't there before, normally it is greyed out, with no details and / or with no Episode Title / info. They will not play. Most likely, most of these episodes probably do not exist to start with.
    F) Some Shows are missing Episodes all together (they are not included in the episodes listings at all... they are simply skipped over).

This is more problematic when you consider that Customers purchased a Season that had several listed Bonus Episodes and / or a Movie that had several listed Bonus Materials / Extras, but such Bonus material is not accessible / watchable. If customers they purchased it, they should own it and be able to watch it.

    Examples:

    1) Josh Gates Tonight Season 2 (Discovery, 2020) - Episode 7 is listed but will not play.

    2) NCIS Season 18 (2020, CBS) (Owned) - There is an Episode 17 listed, but it is greyed out. It will not play. I don't think there was an Episode 17.

    3) Lost in Space (2018) Season 1 - There are Bonus episodes, numbered as Episodes 101 to 105. Episode 105 "No Place to Hide" was listed and would fail to play. Now it is removed all together (missing).

    4) Expedition X Season 1 (2020, Discovery) - There is an Episode 8 listed, but it is greyed out and will not play.

    5) Expedition Unknown Season 9 (Travel Channel, 2021) - Episode 2 is missing all together.

    6) Hunting Atlantis Season 1 (Discovery, 2021) - Episode 3 is missing all together.

    7) MacGyver Season 5 (2020, CBS) (Owned) - There is an Episode 16 listed, but greyed out. It will not play.

    8) Creepshow Season 1 (AMC, 2020) - The season includes several bonus features numbered as 101 to 109. Episodes 102 to 109 fail to play with a message about failing to get playback info.

    9) Shipwreck Secrets Season 1 (SCI Channel, 2020). There is an Episode 6 showing. It is greyed out and does not play.

    10) Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017) - There are 40 Extras / Bonus Features. 35 of the fail to play.

    11) Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015) - There are 16 Extras / Bonus Features. 7 of the fail to play.

I could go on and on.

It appears after the Fandango / VUDU merger, that extra Episode appeared with many TV Shows; The ability to Rate TV Episodes and Movie Bonus Features disappeared; Many existing TV / Movie Bonus Features now will not Play at all; and recent TV SHows have Episodes that are flat out missing.

As a note, I use VUDU via a Roku device, which is one of the Supported Devices noted on the VUDU web site. I also own (purchased) all but one of the above Examples. The only reason I don't own the other one is that it is priced at $30, only a few episodes into the Season and all ready 1 Episode is missing (skipped over, not included...).

    These issues need addressing, please!

They definitely jumped the gun when they did this merger. They should have handled all these issues way before the merger. I still have 24 titles that I purchased in UHD on FandangoNow that only came over in HD on Vudu.

    625 UHD
    785 HDX
    5 SD

Hi Lu. Hope all is well. Is exactly why I will not merge my accounts. I don't like Fandango, never did. Got my head bit off in the forums a few times because I was wary of Fandango taking over. I have too many movies (1308) to leave Vudu though. I've been purchasing anything that isn't MA from Apple TV instead. Especially since we can view the same movie on more than one screen at the same time. I like that. Vudu doesn't allow. Fandango taking over hasn't changed anything. In regards to "bonus content" with movies. My "Twilight" collection won't playback the bonus material. "failed to get playback information". Speaking of "Twilight" ... Fandango done a poor job of retaining UV movies when UV closed down. They robbed me of "Breaking Dawn" part one LOL Part two was still in my movie list but not part one. They wanted me to purchase it again. No merger for me. Take care friend. Stay well.

And Vudu Fandango refuses to acknowledge their is an issue publicly. Social Media is on fire with angry customers yet not one peep from corporate, customer service is no help, either. This is a complete CF.

How long is an appropriate time to wait for these issues to be fixed before we start looking at other options?

I feel we are now way past that. The company had nearly a year to make sure all of their licensing was in place before shutting down FN and forcing us to merge our libraries, deciding to clean up the mess afterwards, which they have not done very effectively or timely.

These problems still exist and have yet to be addressed or responded to in the Forums, by VUDU.

FelipeF from Vudu has responded in the Multiple Help Tickets related to the FandangoNOW merge that are yet to be resolved thread:

We have not forgotten, it's just that there's so much work that needs to be done for each title we do not have on our service. Sorry that this it taking a while to remedy but we are working on this. This is our #1 priority at the moment.
However, Vudu and FandangoNow had over a year to make sure these titles were available prior to the shutdown of FandangoNow, and many of us were assured that our libraries were safe and that this situation would not happen. It is the silence and lack of communication from Vudu that has us, the loyal customers, more upset than anything else.
