I got the Digital version of the Blu-ray some time ago, via DMA. Very recently mine also switched in Vudu. In Google Play it's the old version (84 min and the regular cover), and in Vudu it's the new version. On DMA my page for it says "Pre-order confirmed Available September 6, 2016." But I can play it and I did not "order" the new version. It plays 1:24 so that's still the old version btw.

Apparently DMA auto-upgraded Beauty and the Beast, and Vudu got the upgrade early? Good or bad I don't know, only thing is for me, today I can't find another version of Beauty of the Beast on Vudu.

It'll be interesting to see what happens in a couple of days.

Ok, that's very interesting. At any rate, I don't own that version either. The one I "own" is the "Special Edition" which corresponds to the info on any DMA version now, but I'm not sure if it was that before the recent Vudu cover change as I don't use the PC very much to look at my Vudu (usually just Vudu on Sony Android TV or PS4/PS3 or Android Tablet)

If you already have the film on Disney Movies Anywhere from the previous Blu-Ray release, you simply need to unlink and relink your Vudu account to get both runtimes.

Well, I owned the 92 min. Special Edition and unlinked & relinked from DMA. Now, the Special Edition is gone, the 1991 85 min version is in my acct. says I own it, and "Available in18 Hours." What am I missing?!

That unlink and relink doesn't always work, and then there's the idiot thing I did:

I have 2 vudu accounts, mine and one that is connected to my husbands. My main account doesn't share uv with him. [I don't like his stuff for the most part, only some stuff, so joining his account as a different user made sense.]

So I un-linked vudu and then re-linked, in the wrong browser. Now I have Beauty and the Beast Special Edition in my main Vudu account still, and in the other vudu account I have the 1991 version but it's locked until Sept. 6.

[and all my Disney future will be in the wrong account, which means by the end of this week no vudu will have my Disney connected until March 2017.]

The exercise wasn't worth it. I felt acutely I'd have locked B&TB, but did it anyway, and goofing up which account I linked...

I have I-tunes connected to DMA too since yesterday, with xml B&TB and lots of extras, but none of that came to the 2nd DMA connected Vudu account.

Tomorrow though still feels like Christmas.

How did you try to find the special edition? Through search feature? Or by actually going through your library for it? The reason I ask is that once a title (the special edition in this case) is removed for sale from the Vudu store, it no longer shows up in search. The only way to find owned content like this is through actually going through your library itself.

If you cannot find it in your library, it makes me think that perhaps your account was linked to a previous Vudu account? Or do you remember when you initially linked it? When you link your DisneyMoviesAnywhere account to a provider for the first time, you basically unlock the license of ownership For that specific service provider, so even if you later unlinked, the ownership on that service would remain for those titles and not disappear. You can always unlink and link to a different Vudu account, but the issue is that the ownership would have already been sent to the initial account. So unlike the first account, unlinking would cause removal of content on second account whenever you do unlink (it's basically ownership while linked, rather than its own separate ownership license. (This is understandable as its to prevent abuse)

So that's why I wondered if perhaps that's why your special edition disappeared from your library, because it could have been a situation of a second account link (which only is for ownership while linked), meaning that now that the special edition is not part of DMA anymore, it doesn't return to the account. The 1991 version is what would come up as its the current version on DMA. The special edition shouldn't disappear from your Vudu account if you initially linked it to this one and only Vudu account, as there should be a license that isn't affected by disconnecting. But I could be wrong.

Thank you for your very thorough reply! So, I searched my titles alphabetically. The Special Edition is gone. The only version showing up is the 85 min. one. Again, it says I own it, but the "cover" now says "Available in 16 Hours." (FWIW, my DMA account now only shows the 85 min. version.) I've never had any Vudu account except this one... What the hell happened?! I want my Special Edition back!

Unfortunately that's the only thing I can think of. Vudu hasn't released the Vudu extras for this yet, but I'd hope that like iTunes, it includes multiple versions of the film in the extras. The iTunes version includes quite a few versions actually, which is super nice.

I've never had this redeemed, but plan on buying the upcoming Blu-ray with the digital code. Which version will I get? The original or special edition? The special edition only has one song added, right? Was this song on any other Blu-ray/DVD/VHS release?

1991 edition will be new code redemption, hopefully the Vudu extras include the other versions. Yes, it has that "Human Again" song added to the special edition version. The new Blu-Ray itself will include all versions of the film, as does the iTunes version. So it's just a matter of whether Vudu has it as part of the features or not.
