    VUDU Windows 10 App!

I was just browsing the Microsoft Store in Windows 10 and noticed that VUDU finally has an app for Windows 10! Currently it only works on PC but I'm hoping this is the first step in releasing a universal app that will also work on Xbox One. Overall, I think it looks great but there are a few issues as expected with the first release of a new app. Here are the issues I have found:

    - I can only seem to play HDX if I download the title in HDX. If I try to stream a title it always plays in SD without the option to switch to HDX.
    - The sort settings are not saved. If I change the default sort to A-Z in My Movies it resets itself the next time I navigate to it.
    - There is no watch list. This feature is not present on the other mobile apps (iOS, Android) but it needs to be added. The convenience of picking up where I left off in the TV apps is very nice
    - It is not a universal app. I'm hoping they will eventually fix this so the app will also run on Windows phones and Xbox One.

Mods, please provide any insight into upcoming features if you can. Thanks for your hard work!

    Re: VUDU Windows 10 App!

It's wonderful to finally have a Windows 10 app! I especially like the ability to sort by studio. Also, thank you for adding new genres like Animation, Classics, Sports, and Teen. I can finally sort by Disney, and then Animation. That is what some of us have been asking for for a long time.

The sort by studio is not available on the website or Roku app yet, so I hope you can get that done soon. And the new genres are not available on the Roku app either.

I am really excited about the new Windows 10 app, and I hope it can come to the xBox soon.

The new genre list is missing the fantasy and war categories. I'd also like to see a genre for Inspirational, Holidays, and Disaster.

      Re: VUDU Windows 10 App!

Thank you very much for posting this. I had no idea it was out there. The Vudu app works so much better than Vudu-to-go on my 2 year old Windows tablet.

Not sure why HDX is not working for you. I am streaming "Now You See Me 2" on the tablet right now, and it's in HDX. When I touch the bottom of the screen, the "control bar" (not sure what else to call it) comes up. From there I can pause, advance the film (with the progress slider) change the volume, exit the film, and select video quality. It currently says HDX, but when I touch HDX, a small pop-up menu is displayed with "Switch Quality" and the options: HDX HD SD and Cancel.

      Have you tried that?

      10 minutes later:
OK, that's weird. I just tried streaming a bunch of different films, and it seems like my DMA titles (Guardians of the Galaxy, Star Wars and Jungle Book) all come up with SD, and the option to change resolution does not work....I wonder if it's a Disney thing. I'll keep trying titles.....

You are right. It definitely seems to be an issue with just Disney movies (including Miramax, etc.). Other movies are playing in HDX for me. Oddly enough I am able to stream those same Disney titles from the browser in HDX. Hopefully it's only a temporary glitch.

          Re: VUDU Windows 10 App!

It is great to finally have a Windows 10 app. A couple of issues I noticed:
          1) The mouse pointer never hides when in full screen.
          2) It does not respond to the play/pause commands on my keyboard (and probably not the remote either).

Has anyone been able to hook up to an AVR to see if we are getting Dolby Digital Plus audio via HDMI? Also, how does download work? Do you have to play the download in the Vudu app?

Finally! Works OK but noticed some weird artifacts when goin full screen briefly. No HDX for Disney as well.

I am very excited to see this app! It's fairly nice for a first version, now it just needs UHD support and become available on the Xbox One and Windows Phone.

                Re: VUDU Windows 10 App!

Is there a way to change where the downloaded movies are stored ? I went into Settings in the app, there's a setting to change download quality (SD/HDX) but no setting for location. It seems to default to the C: drive on my laptop. On my Chuwi tablet Dual Boot (Android/Windows), it goes to internal memory which isn't much. Would be great if I can set it to use the microSD card.

Yes, very happy to see this. I'll throw my voice in to the XBox One S with UHD support. Even an updated app similar to this would be nice. When is the Roku exclusive agreement up?

                    Re: VUDU Windows 10 App!

Anybody got any luck casting videos from the Win10 app via AirPlay/Chromecast/DLNA?

Also throwing a +1 for Xbox One support. 4K, 3D and HDR would be amazing. The current app's kinda awful but I appreciate it being there at least (Apple TV, Fire TV...)
