I'm sure it will be on all devices before long. Whenever a terrible update ruins an app on one device you can bet it will spread to them all eventually.

Same. I love the new look. There are some things I do hope they correct or add, that we obviously need, but the design is simple and much cleaner than the previous design.

The design is not 'simple' and 'cleaner' when you see less items per page, have to do more scrolling to see everything and the scrolling is slow and causes lagging. These are not improvements over the previous design. We can give specific examples of why the new app is terrible but the small few who say they like the new app can't really offer anything specific. Other than 'I like the new look' which is an absurd reason when you lose a lot of functionality.

Simple and cleaner doesn't mean MORE titles appear for your to see at once... lol. Also, have not experienced any lag at all on my Roku TV. "We" can not give examples since "we" would mean all. I am speaking from my own point of view and how it works for me. As well as others. I highly doubt they are going to revert for anyone complaining. Just gotta get use to it. I also said they also needed to help features...

Well that attitude says it all right there, low or no expectations that anything will get better, so why bother right? Well that never helps. If a company ignores all complaints, which in this case are overwhelmingly negative towards the new app and its design, then it shows what type of company they are. Self serving only and not caring about the customers or their experience using the app. It means they see our feedback as meaningless and if that's the case they don't deserve our money.

If this goes unfixed then Fandango doesn't deserve to earn another cent from any rentals or purchases from anyone displeased with this new app. So no, we absolutely don't have to 'get used to' how badly this app was conceived and implemented. We can all collectively stop purchasing and renting from this service, unless they do the right thing and revert back to the superior app that Vudu had previously. When they were still actually Vudu, before Fandango took over, ruined the app and drove Vudu off the rails.

I doubt less than 30 people here "says it all" but, if you say so. Everyone screaming they will leave Vudu, even with all their 100s to 1000s of non MA titles sitting here? Yeah, I doubt that. If I've learned anything in my 10 years in digital, they will be all talk, no action. I mean, 30 people are gonna make a huge company change their design? No. Now, this will most likely be my last comment in this thread, since having a difference of opinion here shows you get attacked. Enjoy the new design. I know I will.

I didn't say anything about leaving Vudu, if you read my comment you'd see that I said we should no longer rent or purchase anything in the future, thus not giving Fandango any more of our money since we are not happy with the service or new app. Furthermore, if Fandango insists on keeping this poor app that a lot of people hate, they can certainly refund all of the money spent for those purchases to the people who request it and would prefer buying those movies again on a different app, one that is not terribly designed.

Sorry if you feel like you are being attacked, that wasn't my intention even if that is how it came out. But what Fandango has done here since acquiring Vudu is terrible. If you and others like you love this new app then fine, by all means go off and enjoy the new app. But you are clearly in the minority based on everyone who has commented on the subject.

As for your comment about only 30 people complaining, well I hope you realize that most people that use streaming sites either don't know about or don't care to seek out these types of message boards. Some people may only email Vudu directly to complain so we can't see it because they didn't comment here. So there are potentially a lot more people unhappy about this app design who don't take the time to complain publicly here. By thinking it's only a small number of people who don't like the update or who have complained based on the posters here, is incredibly short sighted.

Complaining when you are unhappy is the basis of change, to think you can do nothing against a big company and you shouldn't even try is a bad message. Even if you can't get them to change what you don't like you can still no longer support that company by not giving them any more of your money. If everyone had the attitude that complaining is useless because we are only a few people going up against a big company, well, nothing wrong would ever get fixed for the better in this world. So we will keep complaining. Have a nice day and enjoy the app!

A whole 10 years in digital, huh? I've got 20 that says we will make this "huge company" change their design.

                            UPDATE:

The VUDU app for ROKU devices still sucks!

Fortunately, I always find a workaround to Mickey Mouse dev work in order to achieve efficiency.

In this case, the workaround involves logging in on a computer to get a better view of my titles and search deals in multi-tasker format. (Up to72 deal titles at a time and 63 at a time for your portfolio.)

Find a movie to watch...start playing it, so that it goes into your "Continue Watching list"...restart it on app.

This is not as convenient or ideal as sitting back and scanning on the big screen, but like I said, it's a workaround and without a doubt, more efficient than viewing/scrolling 5 titles at a time or scan the disaster that is now "Deals."

Don't get me wrong, if they don't revert back or at least give the option to view the classic version, I'm requesting and will fight for a total refund, because I already know it'll become harder and harder to manage and the platform as well as the website will become overwhelmed with analytics, algorithms and suggestions...just like every other subscription streaming platform.

The problem is, VUDU is not a subscription service.

That said, VUDU/Fandango get your act together!

Feels strange, but I really haven't bought anything at all since the update. As one person, I know I'm not a huge source of income, but when I would purchase 25+ things weekly... sucks to be VUDU. The only things I have bought were movies on sale on MAs website, as I can't navigate this new UI at all. It's not helpful for my needs.

Yeah another Update from me, I've sent TWO support tickets to Vudu about issues with the new app, one around May 3 and another around May 7. Both have not been responded to. I can't believe how terrible Fandango is treating their customers, don't even call them Vudu anymore because they are Vudu only in name. It's Fandango who is in control, they have ruined the Roku app with this terrible update and Fandango is now ignoring complaints. They seem to not be responding to any of us, neither here with replies on these topics, nor in private email replies to assure as that they are actually aware of our concerns and are working to fix things. When it was still actually Vudu running things I'd get a response from support in 2 days or less regardless of whether they could help me or not, now all I get is the sound of crickets. It's absolutely insulting to customers who have spent hundreds or even thousands of dollars over the years supporting Vudu.

Your work around is a good idea, but it still can't get around the fact that when you start playing or resume playing videos on the new app the first 5 seconds are blocked with the overlay controls that you can't dismiss and the screen is dimmed, which is particularly bad for TV episodes which begin immediately. You still can't access the details page for each episode from the season list because now the only option to select is a Watch button. Because of this you can't see the full description of episodes if they are lengthy and you can no longer access the button to play the episode trailers, because the details sub menu is gone! The only true solution is to revert back to the previous superior app while they fix this new one to fall in line with our requests, but Fandango remains silent doing who knows what, probably just counting their money and patting themselves on the back for creating this terrible design that they think is good!
