As of Oct 2022, I'm seeing 6 titles per row, 12 per page.

And there's no custom artwork being cycled in the background as the thumbnail focus changes; just a dull, dark grey background. Hopefully this is a first step towards improving scrolling performance.

Still baffling that the Continue Watching thumbnails all show the full runtime vs remaining time, even though remaining is what's displayed in a title details page. (Though the details page should use the same Hh Mm format, rather than just minutes.)

Baby steps in the right direction.

I agree that the new interface is somewhat disappointing. I've been a fan of Vudu for a long time, but worried that they might eventually reduce the friendliness of their streaming apps. What makes the Vudu experience unique and appealing, was its superior yet simple interface – compared to the competition. The Vudu interface had a wonderful and appealing efficiency and user friendliness, which was diminished somewhat with the new interface, because it seems like there are extra clicks required to navigate and more visual clutter detracting from the enjoyment of the app.

I would very much prefer to have the option of avoiding the default Spotlight view via a preference setting.

Of the many pluses, is the view that allows you to move from thumbnail to thumbnail while seeing some details on the video (as you arrow key through a list of titles) without having to click to the full detail view. Another major plus side of the Vudu app in comparison to say Amazon Prime or Netflix is that Vudu places the “My Vudu” menu item almost at the top of the menu; on Amazon and Netflix the user’s menu is the furthest away from the home position – perhaps a direct correlation for the level of esteem they have for their customers?

One reason the customer expectations may justifiably be higher for the Vudu service is because Vudu is focused on purchasing content instead of a subscription model. Perhaps consequently, it’s a reasonable expectation that Vudu video library owners should have a marketing-free path to their existing library without being peddled to along the way. Loyal Vudu customers already initiate shopping for titles on their own without the need to be prodded.

Quality, customer friendly (not exploitive) interface design principles is the way to go.

Been away from my Roku for a while for various reasons (have two better streaming devices, though Vudu support on them is a bit limited) but checked it out today for the first time in a few months. I would like to thank Vudu for at least bringing back the ability to hide the onscreen displays with the Back button. I'd still rather they not appear at all on starting playback, and I still prefer the older interface to this new one, but the unhideable display was the real deal-breaker as that affected the viewing experience and at least that's been fixed.

AppleTV 4K and Nvidia Shield TV? Because honestly I don’t think there is anything better than Roku Ultra 4K besides them.

I have them all as well, and more. But honestly 99+% of the time I just use the Roku Ultra 4K due to having basically every app and being dumb stupid easily and quick for everything. Android is just frustrating. Apple has lots of nice features and many freaking options, not to mention Spatial Audio on (Apple) headsets but it’s got a steep learning curve.

I use to have an AppleTV. Loved it, but I had been using Roku the longest, and it had everything I needed. I also have a Fire device, and I have to say the Vudu app on that is horrible. I like the new layout, just wish their artwork was better quality, and a little bigger, like how MA does theirs. Still would like to see new features added.
