Roku app refresh is a UI Failure and will lose money for Vudu

This app update is garbage. I loved the previous version of the app.
    1. You can't easily see what is on sale in your lists.
    2. When doing mix and match you have to add a movie to see if you own it..
    3. It is less user intuitive to find items on sale or make impulse buys.
This update is terrible from a money making perspective.

I routinely spend money on vudu for movies on sale, now, why bother. It is too hard to just drop 5 or 15 bucks. I'll only use it on my smart TV that hasn't updated.

I'd roll it back or get some quality of life UI fixes out there to keep customers you have.

Great points. So far Fandango hasn't done anything to address all the bad things about this new app or even bother to respond to our complaints. I don't think they care, maybe they are trying to sabotage Vudu purposely, such a shame. All they need to do is roll it back to the previous superior Roku app version and we'd be fine.

For 12 years now, I’ve been firing up Vudu every time I turn my TV on checking for new movies, sales and free TV episodes (I’ve picked up every single one of those.) If the new interface becomes standard, I will no longer do that. I have already stopped purchasing anything on Vudu that doesn’t port to Movies Anywhere since I don’t want to be forced to watch anything through that new interface. The real deal-breaker is the forced onscreen time and title display with the darkened screen at the beginning. You can call that nit-picky but if I’m paying for something I don’t want any displays on top of it (that also makes trailers less enjoyable.)

That is absolutely positively NOT nitpicky! It's totally unacceptable! The screen being darkened with player control overlays covering the top and bottom of the screen for the beginning of every single video for 5 seconds (and again if you resume from PAUSE, RWD/FF) is a total slap in the face! It's worse for TV episodes because they begin immediately and don't have 6 logos like movies do at the start, so you are literally getting a portion of your show blocked every time you play an episode!

This completely shows that Fandango doesn't give a damn about the viewer experience at all if they are going to force this. There is absolutely no benefit at all to the forced overlay controls, the people who designed and approved this should be fired immediately! It doesn't matter whether you are renting, purchasing, or watching something for free, this is insane to have to put up with! This is an absolute deal breaker and I won't give Fandango a single cent towards future purchases until this ridiculous overlay is gone! The player controls should NEVER appear onscreen unless the user calls for the overlay with a button press and it should be easily dismissed with that same button press when you want it gone!

Speaking of trailers, you can't even find the TV show trailers anymore because the trailer button is on the details page for each episode, which you can no longer access from the season vertical column! Before you could select the episode and it brought you to a details page with the full into text and the Play Trailer as well as Play Episode buttons. Now all we get is a Watch button in the season list! The only way to access the details page with the trailer buttons is if the episodes happen to be in the continue watching section, what a JOKE this app is!

I've sent two support ticket complaints to Vudu about this matter, it's been over a week for the first and about three days for the second. Not a single response! Before Fandango took over, Vudu always responded in a timely manner, their new policy seems to be pretending that complaints don't exist, so they can keep doing what everybody hates and patting themselves on the back for their design!

          ^^ This. Absolutely This! ^^
Instead of purchasing ~25 things each week from sales (because 'oh someone will watch that' or 'ratings seems good' or 'oh that looks fun')... I've probably bought like... 2 movies... because... I've... stopped looking... each week since the UI rolled out.

PC shows SALE banners on everything... even if you own the movie... and with the amount of movies I own, PC is not viable for searching. The app has always been great.
