Seems like FelipeF and Vudu are not interested in enforcing their own T&C and people are free to impersonate others and in this case user impersonating Ashley L from MeWe

Hey FelipeF, any news on fixing this? It's still playing the remake. Thanks.

FelipeF ? I check this morning and it's still the remake, but I do see Vudu removed the trailer to the 1958 version that was included... From what I can tell, Criterion is the studio holding the rights to this film. It shouldn't be hard for Vudu to work something out, since they have added other Criterion titles, and iTunes and Prime both offer it for purchase.

Does Vudu plan to correct this issue?

FelipeF , is there any reason you can give as to why this still hasn't been fixed?

Still plays the wrong version. This is sad how Vudu doesn't care.

Doesn’t care or like many companies is understaffed, overburdened, and running tight on any profits.

Many companies got burned by the last recession. Mine actually had no problem and still handled out Xmas bonuses even. But the Covid recession while we make bank the first year we’ve been in the tank heavily since and Xmas bonuses which have existed since the companies any has for half a century are officially gone the last two Xmas and for eternity.

I think the main issue is who actually released the HD transfer. From what I can tell it is by Criterion (DVD, BR and Digital). I know Vudu and Criterion don't seem to have the best deal on offering their titles, where Amazon and iTunes seem to always offer them. I know some Criterion titles are on Vudu, just not a lot for sale, and some ported over from the FNow merge. I just wish Vudu can Criterion could come to a compromise, as I feel that is the one thing holding this fix back.

Not that it applies to you or nearly everyone here on the forum. But as a prior Kaleidescape owner myself I wonder what they have since I believe the license they have with most studios is to do their own rips from physical discs for their “streaming” (err download) service. If you have the funds and want the best download quality you can get they’re the only service.

I search their movies, but nothing came up for the title, not even the remake?

That’s interesting with it being such a classic. They do have a lot of classic and are very responsive on the forum so it’s possible they would add it if requestsed.

I do see the classic original is available for free SD streaming elsewhere if anyone needs to see it before this gets fixed.
