Tropic Thunder Unrated Director's Cut (HDX) Wrong Aspect Ratio!

Tropic Thunder - Unrated Director's Cut, ID# 142276, in HDX is in the wrong aspect ratio.

Strangely, the "fake" trailers and opening DreamWorks logo are 2.39:1, but once the movie proper starts, it is full screen 16:9.

The theatrical cut (ID# 180858) is 2.39:1 all the way thru.

This movie is not yet mentioned in the Wrong Aspect Ratio thread in the list on the first post. If you haven't already, please mention this issue there as well so it gets on the list.

Edit: I see your post was already there. Hopefully the thread owner will get added to first post soon.

FelipeF I logged a ticket (ref:_00D30ccv._500Do6FvtI:ref) late last week regarding the wrong aspect ratio on "Tropic Thunder: Director's Cut" along with "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle," and received the following response from Vudu customer service this morning:

        "Hi Todd,

Thank You for contacting Vudu Customer Care!
Please note that the aspect ratio of a movie can only be fixed or adjusted on your device (tv/ computer/phone). From our side, we are unable to assist with that. We are sorry for the inconvenience and do appreciate your continued support.

        Thank you,
        Vudu Customer Service"

How is this a device-related issue? Is no one being trained at Customer "Care" anymore?

I've now submitted twice for a refund on this and still yet to receive a response or refund.
Really disappointing to say the least, you would think there would be some kind of notice that the film has been altered from it's original format. Sure would have saved the purchase
Frustrating to purchase a title thinking you are getting what you would on a blu ray etc in the proper aspect ratio only to find in some cases its a pan and scan print.

How did you submit your request? After receiving the above email, I called in and was treated like a moron, once again blaming my display or streaming device, and finally blaming Paramount for the error.

Fine, the studio sent you the wrong version. Whatever. Regardless, if a company sent me the wrong version of something I ordered, or even if I ordered the wrong version, I would do whatever I could to get it corrected.

All this finger-pointing by Vudu only shows that they no longer care about providing the best product and service.

FelipeF Paramount has just informed me that they have delivered to Vudu the corrected file for Tropic Thunder: Director's Cut. When can we expect it to get loaded and be available to view? And why did it take a customer to complain to the studio to get this fixed?

Toddwrtr FelipeF I submitted my requests via email both times and both went unanswered. This is great news to hear. How do I go about putting requests in for other titles that are incorrect that i've purchased unknowing they were NOT the right formatted print since the email option isn't working (i.e. Enter The Dragon, North To Alaska). I've been afraid to purchase some titles fearing the aspect ratio would be incorrect, than i'm stuck with it with no resolve.
