ENTER THE DRAGON WRONT ASPECT RATIO??

I've been slowly converting my hard copy blu ray and dvd collection to digital and must say have been very happy with VUDU, especially with their constant sales. However as I sat to watch the HD version of Enter The Dragon the other evening I noticed it was not the full 2:39: ratio (except for opening and closing credits) but a 1:85:1 print. This is the first time I've encountered a purchase from VUDU not in the proper ratio. Reviewing these forums I'm seeing others running into titles not at the proper aspect ratio. What have you done? Are you able to get a refund and have the title removed till they can fix it? I'd prefer getting in the right aspect ratio than the refund but pointless watching this film in a panned and scanned version.

If you have watched all the way through, you most likely cannot get a refund. But I would still raise an issue with customer service, as there is NO EXCUSE for these issues.

However, since "Enter the Dragon" is a Movies Anywhere title, I would check to see if the other MA retailers or even the MA app itself has the film in the correct aspect ratio. There is a good chance someone dos (likely either iTunes/Apple TV or the Movies Anywhere app).

I know, it sucks, but Vudu's content team has been very very slow in fixing these complaints, and sometimes when they fix one mistake, another crops up.

For example, both "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" and "Tropic Thunder: Director's Cut" were in the proper 2.39:1 aspect ratio, but had stereo rather than 5.1 soundtracks. When Vudu corrected the audio to 5.1, both movies were now in the wrong full-screen (1.78:1) aspect ratio. Complaints have been made, but nothing has been corrected (Charlie's Angels was reported over a year ago regarding the aspect ratio).

This movie is mentioned in the Wrong Aspect Ratio thread. Along with so many more that deserve correction. There have been many in that thread that have eventually been corrected as well as many that have not.

This movie is set to get the 4K treatment very soon. The HDX encode may be fixed when this gets upgraded.

Doubtful. Vudu didn’t fix the HDX and SD versions of “Underworld” when that got released on 4K.

Vudu has miraculously corrected the aspect ratio issues with the SD and HDX versions.

Probably because so many had been complaining just before the 4K was released, yet they still managed to screw it up by not including the original theatrical cut and special features that the press release from the studio stated were to be included.

Sadly, Apple is still the only place that includes the Original Theatrical Version as an iTunes Extra, which means it can only be accessed on Apple devices.
