    Mindy Project Episode Glitch

The Mindy Project Season 4 episode 25 crashes at the 17:40ish mark, causing Vudu to exit and reload. Experienced this on various devices including a Roku 4 and Visio TV. You can fast forward past it and the last few minutes of the episode play without issue, but only if you fast forward before this area. Can this please be looked into?

Reading through the forum, I see this has also happened to films such as American Graffiti. It also is affecting an episode of Golden Girls, will provide details as soon as I have more information.

      Hi Vudu,

I'm trying to reproduce this issue currently. I just had a few questions.

Does this happen everytime you hit the 17:40 timestamp, or does it happen 1 out of 5? 1 out of 10?

Could you tell me your Audio/Video setup? If you're using the Roku4 Is the roku connected directly to your TV or are you using a Receiver or sound-bar as well? Would you mind giving me the model number for the receiver and TV.

Could you tell me the settings you have under the audio menu for the Roku as well? Specifically, "Audio Mode" and "HDMI and S/PDIF".

After the episode crashes, do you see the VUDU loading page immediately followed by your cursor highlighting the spotlight section?

So I found out what's causing this, it's a subtitle issue. This, as well as a few other shows (only found it on 4 episodes in my entire library so far) have a weird subtitle change that happens. If you have subtitles enabled, during this section of the episode there is a brief moment where the subtitles quickly jump to the top left corner. Now, that is just off in general, but that with the combination of customized subtitle settings is what causes it to crash. If you have the default subtitle settings, the app will not crash. The issue occurs for me when I have the text BG transparency set to semi transparent or transparent. I prefer this setting, but since its not playing nice with the content, I've now reset back to default setting.

The part specific to this episode is where it says "You're about to be physically drained, _______ upstairs."

This issue also affects the subtitles in Married to Medicine Season 3 episodes 16 (4:55 timestamp for the "laughs" subtitle) and episode 17. They all feature the issue of subtitles shifting to top left corner, crash only occurs with customized subtitle settings. It's still an issue of placement of subtitles and hopefully will be fixed to appear correctly.

Thanks for the info! I'll try to reproduce it and we can go from there.
